I just read over at gamespot that a port of the SNES rarity Rock N' Roll Racing will be released on the GBA next year. For anyone who hasn't played the original, let me just tell you that it's an absolute blast to play. It's also one of the rarer SNES games out there as it didn't get much publicity upon release. It was also known as one of the best sounding SNES game ever made as the game contained several licensed and extremely high quality rock songs. Just imagine a 2D Twisted Metal meets Super Mario Cart and you'll kind of see what I'm talking about. I just hope it doesn't sound like the Genesis version as the soundtrack was half the experience.

I actually plugged in my SNES last weekend and started play RnRR. It was really easy, but then again, I was only playing in the normal difficulty bracket.

The songs are a bit dated coming for the SNES, but they were still pretty damn good. Myabe they can put the vocals back in for the GBA?

Rock 'N Roll Racing for the SNES is a FANTASTIC game, one of my favorites on that system. As Earthquake said, the music is excellent (cool instrumental versions of Highway Star (Deep Purple), Born to be Wild (Steppenwolf), a Black Sabbath song (Paranoid?), and a few others). And even more, the control, gameplay, and difficulty level are all excellent. Its great to slowly upgrade your car into better and better handling versions, including a very cool hovercraft thats immune to the oil slicks laid out by other racers!! I do hope that the GBA port doesn't cut the music down in quality/quantity, if it does then to me its a sign that GBA carts don't have the capacity that they should (which I already suspect is the case). Anyway great news about RnR Racing for GBA, lets hope they do a good job on it . . . :)

The only problem with the original game was:
You couldn't lose!
No matter how often you came in last-you just upgrade your car with the price-money,until you simply overpower your opposition-and that's it.

Having some limited continues should help..

Otherwise,Ace Game!!
A GBA version should make up for that lousy 'Red Asphalt' sequel on PS....
