Notice the "Playable on Xbox Live" yellow stripe across the top of the case, ohhh shit it's on now. Hendrix you better buy one of those controller adaptors from levelsix, cause I just did.

Talking shit while you play via voice, broadband online fighting? Anyone here who always talks shit about owning people in fighting games, can now step up, I'll fucking play ANY one here who wants a shot at the title.

1. I wonder what lag will be like.

2. It's the EO version, so I wonder if players will have the option of playing only against those that use the standard control scheme.

If the answer to 1 is "No lag" and the answer to 2 is "Yes" then this game could rock. I don't know anything about X-Box live but a real-time ranking system for the top 100 would kick ass.

MvC 2 is also rumored to be Xbox Live.

Dude have you ever played a game of Street Fighter Zero 3 (or similar game) over Mame on BB? There is virtually no lag, and consider thats just an emulator, that isnt running the game perfect, and has to deal with windows running, and syncing 2 people over their own connections, not playing on an actual server.

Capcom did it in Japan on 56K with the DC, Xbox will be cream cheese butter. My pings on Mame are like around 50ms, now that should be lag free, but you get the slow ups and jumps because its still an emulator.

oh my GOD

Could this be true? It's finally happening? Capcom is FINALLY bringing online play to the US!? I almost pissed my pants. All that's left is for ascii to release a pad for the xbox and I'm all set.

I've played fighting games online through Emus and I get nothing BUT lag. Unplayable even, key strokes registering on the screen a full 3 seconds after you push them. I'm running cable too, which does not lag with any other online applications.

Go to levelsix.xom, buy the xbox magicbox adaptor, it lets you use PS/PS2, Saturn and DC controllers on Xbox, I'm using it with my Mas DC stick.

It has a memory card slot too, so you can still use the headset.

Maybe you don't have enough ram, that would slow you down. I've played a ton of games with NeoGML on NYC servers, and we have great games, I have DSL, so maybe it's a prob with your cable. Even games like Xmen vs SF run great for me. 256DDR ram here. Anyways mame will run like shit compared to an online console version, DC games were playable online with 56K, try playing even SF2CE over mame with 56K, it ain't gonna work.

512MB SDRAM.

I played on both Killera and MAME. They ran great offline but gameplay online was aweful. I only wanted them for online play so I just gave up on it and haven't tried since.

I think all X-Boxs are broadband, right? Gameplay should rock online with such a standardized atmosphere.

Now this is the kind of shit I want to see, a solid, non-flame post from Drift. I was always jealous of the Japanese and the online capcom games on DC. I just need to get one of those adaptors now :( . I don't know how good you are Caris, but I'll be happy to spank J Hendrix like a silly bitch ;) . By the way J, check your PMs, I have cabs to dump!

You may have had a firewall running, It used to run like shit for me and I couldn't figure out why, it was because of my firewall.

Also your keyframes may be set to high, set them to good or medium for fastest play, even if you have BB don't use the LAN setting.

I am good as hell at CvsSNK 2, and I'll be happy to back it up for anyone here. Now we need Guilty Gear XX with online play.

This looks interesting, indeed! Looks like I'll be shelling out some cash for an X-Box pretty soon. I'll be happy to play anybody here too! Now THIS is what gaming is all about

And you doubted me DK when I originally posted this! :(
Anyway its good to see that it indeed came true and funny how on the same day they also plan to release Steel Battalion... as well as my wallet. <img src="graemlins/ohno.gif" border="0" alt="[Oh No]" />
Just a note its most likely that MvsC2 will indeed be for Xbox Live but it's delayed till next year.

I never really got into the CvsSNK series, looks like I am going to have to now.

X-Box Live + online fighters = nirvana

edit: All of you are going to get owned.

I'll never understand why people get such a kick out of playing against human opponents.

No matter how good the AI is in a game, it can't match up to the human brain.

There is nothing better than playing games at the highest level of skill, no matter how good someone is at a game there is ALWAYS someone better.

Games like FPS and Fighters are not real games unless you get to play against a friend or virtual friend.

To tell you the truth, I've never played online before as it just doesn't interest me. But I might have to give this XBox Live thing a chance. I have a 56k connection so will that bring any problems?

Well the Xbox is broadband only so that could present a problem... ;)

But I thought that you could get online with any ISP whether you use broadband or 56k? Or can you still do that, but only play online games if you have a broadband connection?

you dont need broadband, all you need is an internet connection over a lan.

basically you can just set up ICS with your 56k connection and get a nic and a crossover cable and have probably laggy online play
