At the moment, I have 6 different systems with 2 hooked up to my 13 inch TV. I don't really have any money at the moment, but I plan to buy a 36 incher in the future. Anyway, what's the best way to hook up all 6 of my systems to my TV at once? I was thinking about picking up a small book shelf at a store like Target or Walmart and just running the wires behind it to keep things nice and neat. What do you guys think?

Yes, a book shelf. THat's how I arranged my 6 systems and connected them to my TV.

I like cabinets better so dust doesn't get on everything.

I need to do some serious reorganizing. I need to get a tall, but thin bookshelf so that I don't have to have half of my stuff in the closet.

You see, last year I bought an entertainment stand from Walmart and it can hold a 27 inch TV and six systems easily. Not to mention, four or five systems on top. But it just boils down to a rat's nest of wires and a huge fire hazard. So my plan for now is to get a small unenclosed TV stand for a larger TV and a separate book shelf to store my systems. I'll have them side by side with the wires obviously running along the back. But again I face the problem of messy wires. Does anyone know if they make any wire organizers/ties?

My super-cool-ghetto-fabulicious way of organizing my consoles.

1) Find desk at your brother's house that will be thrown out.

2) Take it to your new 7.5" X 8" room in college park and remove the faces of the drawers.

3) Put your consoles in the drawers.

4) Laugh at your cool new entertainment center.

Edit: Earthquake, I use twisty ties to bundle my wires together. Works extremely well.

Umm...

I no longer bother to have them all hooked up at the same time.

I did the following:
a) plug RCA and SVideo cables into set/stereo and have them twisty tied and dangling on the front.
b) buy (argh! forgot the name) Anyway, they're female to female plugs for the RCA cables (composite, component, audio) and the SVideo cable. If you've got a system that has plugs on the console (ie: 3D0, NeoCD) then you can plug these dangling cables into the console. If you have a console with a special AV cable that plugs into the set (ie: GameCube, PS2, Dreamcast, etc) then you use these Female-to-Female connector bits to link the dangling cables to the av cables.
c) Store system and all components needed to play in cabinet/bookshelf/etc.
d) have a (or up to 3 for a SegaCD/32x combo) power outlet(s) that is easily accessible.

With everything easily accessible, you should be able to plug in your chosen system in less then a minute.

Ya I have about 30 systems but only have the 3 current gen ones hooked up right now. My others are nicely placed on a wall unit so i can take them down and plug them in when i want to use them. To many wires to have to many hooked up at once.
