Since Permanent Fund Dividend cheques came in on Wednesday, for those that had direct deposit, I decided I had finally better get one. The last next-gen consoles I got were my DreamCast that I bought and the PS2 that I won on launch day in a Tekken 3 tourney, and promptly sold to the mother of the teenager that I beat to win it. :D

Sam's Club Membership Warehouse had a black GC bundled with a memory card, StarFox Adventures and a game guide for $199.99. They were the last place in town that had any, X-Boxes and GameCubes sold out everywhere once PFDs hit. Oddly enough, there are mountains of PS2s and they are not moving. Probably a combination of those that want them have them already, and that others are more interested in the other systems first.

Going to try Animal Crossing tonight and get things moving, and crack open StarFox Adventures tomorrow.

Then when the X-Box bundles hit, I will snag one of those too. :D

Nice deal you got there. Dinosaur planet isn't exactly one of my favorite games, but Monkey Ball 1&2 combined with Mario is more than enough reason to pick up a GC. I'm telling you, you'd think mario running around w/ a watergun would be gay/kiddy but it's MAD fun.

Anyway, enjoy it!

Peace

Can you do that without actually physically meeting up and trading memory cards?

I actually just got a cube a week ago and its all good. I got resident evil and mario sunshine. Sunshine is a little dissapointing compared to mario world and 64 but resident evil is just awesome.

Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend cheques. Basically, some years ago they decided to invest the oil profits, and every eligible Alaska resident gets a cheque for an equal amount of the profits every year. It is more profitable for the stores in Alaska than the Christmas season. Stores get in pallet loads of big screen televisions, computers, etc. because when a family with two parents and two kids each get a cheque, a $5,000.00 television suddenly becomes an impulse buy.

Here is a list of how much the cheques have been for each year since the program started.

You can read more about the PFD HERE.

Yeah, I go to Sams also. They got good prices for games, and they have a ton of PSX games for only $5-$10 bucks.

Yeah, CNN was reporting how we might not get one next year due to the declining markets, but they did not take into account that it is based on a five year average. Also, there is occasional talk about dissolving the Permanent Fund, in which case everyone would get a cheque for $50,000.00 to $80,000.00.

Yeah. You didn't think I was gonna jump on the first plane to Alaska to give BMU a NES game, did ya :D .

There are at least 3 ways to trade items with another human being in another town:

1) The most common way, is to go to Nook's store and give him an item, tell him who it is going to and where they are (I'm Blaine in Contra). He'll give you a passcode and you give that to that person. No one else, except possibly another person named Blaine who lives in a town called Contra, can use that code to get that item.

2) If you live near the person you can use a second memory card, get on the train and 'travel' to thier town. It'll make a small save file on the other card and you take it to that person's house or whatever and you'll climb off the train with all your items in your inventory in tact. You can then leave them in that person's town or whatever.

Also note that once you do that some of your neighbors will visit his town, and might even move there...and vice versa.

Jigen does this to rob his sister's town of all thier fruit.

3) The Hard Way. Using a GBA and the link cable, you have an island. You have a house on that island. You can put whatever you want in that house or just on the ground around the island.

If I do this and you do this we can use a GBA link cable to trade islands then when I go to the docks Kapp'n will take me to your island instead of mine, I can then take whatever I want from your island and you can do the same from mine, I'll keep using that island until I turn off my GBA and clear it from it's memory, thent it's back to my normal island.

So basically in the 3rd scenario I don't lose the item I give you, because my game doesn't know it's gone.

Long answer to an easy question. Yes you can trade with someone across the world with the passcodes.

I thought the NES was the gift that came on the memory card for the game.

If you're renting it or using a memory card other than the one that came with the game then, no you're not missing anything. You get two NES games on the special memory card the game comes with.

It should be in the mail, from Nintendo of America. There's a present, it's a grab bag. Open the grab bag and there are two games for you.

You don't need the NES to play the games, you just drop them on the floor and press "A" when you're standing in front of them.

That's it.

Also, for enrichment, there are 8 common games:

Balloon Fight, Clu Clu Land, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr MATH, Excitebike, Golf, Pinball and Tennis.

Right now you can get an uncommon game, Soccer, at animal-crossing.com by clicking on the "Dear Pecan" graphic and signing up for a little newsletter. Right now it's the only way to get Soccer, to the best of my knowledge.

The StarFox Adventures disc that came with it has a machine cut or something in the disc. :-/ Not sure if I will be able to exchange the game solo or if I will have to exchange the whole damn bundle.

Now this kind of sucks. Took it back today, having called them to see if I could exchange just the defective game, even though it came with a bundle. They had no individual copies of StarFox Adventures, though, and any other good titles were sold out, so I had to exchange the whole damn bundle just to get the new game.

Sure, it is nice that they did it, I just hope they do not chuck it all in the trash, I told them the system worked great, as I had tried it with Animal Crossing. I doubt it will matter, though.

Hey,

Good thing it worked out for you. You probably heard this, but if you like volleybal at all, but you should try Beach Spikers. I spent few weeks on it-- fairly addicting. Of course, good games like RE:0 & PSO is coming out this month, so...
