PS2 - Price drop?

Do any of you think the PS2 will have a price drop anytime this year?

Why I ask is because I'm thinking of picking one up somewhat soon. I don't want to drop 3 bills if I know it will go down in price by $50 or $100 in a few months?

I'd like to say yes it will, but I doubt it.
GC and Xbocks both have dissappointing line ups in the next few months, to say the least. Needless to say, this probably won't prompt Sony to lower the price of their system to stay competitive.

What do the rest of u think?

I dont see a price drop near.

IGN speculates that (in an action similar to what they did with the Dual Shock Controller) Sony will begin to sell the system with the harddrive and moden/broadband adapter included at the same price of US $299.

So, if anything wait, untill that happens.

I'm waiting for $199 PS2.......
I bought many US games but I can't play (I have JPN PS2.......).

Yeah thats what I heard, There not gonna drop the price, there gonna put in the HD/broadband adapter with it.

I'm waiting until they sell for $150 new. And then, I would probably only buy Gradius and Rez.

PS2 is just now starting to pique my interest, with games like:

Dynasty Warriors 3
Onimusha
GTA3
Devil May Cry
Rez
State of Emergency
