I think I want a turbo duo (I know I want Dracula X), but I need some more convincing. What else would I be able to get for that system? Are there any other wonderful games that I simply must own that I can't get a better or comparable conversion anywhere else? Need some thoughts here people.

If you don't already have a TurboGrafX-16:

Galaga '90 - This is how retro-game remakes should be done.

Devils Crush - It's a pinball game that plays more like a shooter at times.

Bonk's Adventure and Bonk's Revenge - two great, cheap platformers

Oh, let's see... IMO...

Gate of Thunder/Lords of Thunder
Ys Books I & II
Valis II/Valis III
Monster Lair
Last Alert (hey, bad VO or no, there's a pretty good game under there)
It Came From The Desert
Cosmic Fantasy (4, was it?)

Mmm, I'd have more titles listed, but they've been lost both to the mists of memory (and a greedy ex-BF)...

*WHACK* No apostrophe in Ys.

Yes, Ys, is great stuff... you can also snag the Valis series, Alien/Devil's Crush, Ninja Spirit, Exile, Cosmic Fantasy II, Dragon Slayer...

Of course, you haven't lived until you've heard the acting in the US Last Alert. :D

I love Double Dragon 2 on Duo. Too bad that gamefan gave it a really bad review.

If you still have a copy of that old gamefan mag, you'll see they didn't like Duo port of DD2 very much.

16-bit has one copy on his www.mad-gere.com store.
Go and grab it

I just recently purchased a Turbo Duo and have been VERY happy with it. Every time I play it I kick myself for not getting one sooner. Dracula X is fantastic, Lords of Thunder is awesome, and I like a bunch of the other games I've picked up (Blazing Lazers, Ninja Spirit, Ys etc.). There's probably at least 20-30 games I'm still looking to get for this system when I can find them.

Hmmm... Besides Dracula X howa' bout...

Lords of Thunder
Gate of Thunder
Macross 2036
Ray Xanber II
Ray Xanber III
River City Ransom (Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari)
"Sister"
Soldier Blade
Ninja Warriors
Ninja Gaiden
Shinobi
Spriggan
Spriggan Mk. II
Renny Blasters
Red Alert
Final Zone II
Exile
Exile II: Wicked Phenomnenom (if you can find this one)

Air Zonk
Advanced V.G.
Strider Hiryu
Double Dragon II

and a bunch of hentai games like Lady Sword, Strip Fighter II etc.

I think these titles are reason enough to get a Duo dude! Oh let's not forget the Neo:Geo of the PCE DUO... *Galaxy Policewoman SAPPHIRE*, game will only run you $420+

Good luck!

Just make sure to keep in mind that Dracula X is gonna run you an additional $100+ on top of the money you're going to pay for the system.

Some people don't realize that some TG/PC Engine games are somewhat pricey.

But I say go for it...I still actively collect PC Engine Hu-card games (I don't have a CD ROM unit for it). Some of the best games ever, and this is one system that I'll NEVER sell.

Besides Dracula X...

Gate of Thunder
Lords of Thunder
Military Madness
Bonk's Adventure
Bonk's Revenge
Bonk 3
Air Zonk
Flash Hiders
Cotton
Dragon Slayer
Exile 1 & 2
Cosmic Fantasy 2
Legendary Axe 1 & 2
Ninja Spirit
Splatterhouse
Vasteel
Valis 2 & 3 (also 4 and Phantasm Soldier)
Kaze Kiri
Macross 2036
Panic Bomber
Star Parodier
Magical Chase
Aeroblasters
Spriggan

I'll go with the flow and say that Last Alert US is so bad it's good. The gameplay actually isn't that bad, but the dubbing will make your ears bleed.

Nice to see the all the Duo/PCE luvin' goin' on :D

I like DD2 on the PCE, but I have a few problems with it;

The music isn't all that great, IMO it's cheesy.

All the characters have a red-ish hue to them, it's not my TV, in S-video RGB and Composite it looks the same, on different TV's.

And Billy and Jimmy's faces look odd... they look dorky...

The animation is great though, specially the begining intro, with the classic DD tune.

I purchased my Turbo Duo brand new when they originally came out.

I'll never sell it either, very enjoyable system and great CD games. In fact many of the CD soundtracks are better than modern games.

Where does everyone purchase their Turbo games these days?

I use Game Dude but they're selection is getting sparse as the system ages.

Ninja ryukenden (ninja gaiden), man I'm surprised no one else said it, this remake
of the nes classic blows is much better than the ninja gaiden trilogy version

The guy says it in the intro of Book I & II.
That game alone is worth the admission price for the TurboCD.

More or less. Say "east" without the "t" at the end, and you've got it. It rhymes with "fleece." :)

I can't believe I sold those two titles (plus Cotton, Psychic storm and so) years ago....

Right now it's either hard or too pricey to get them back :(

there really are too many games to just straight up list.

Remember, the PCE did better than the NES in japan.
