28% off in stock items. And if you've got one of their 10% discount cards, you can stack that discount with the coupon.

Man... can't argue with this deal. wink

As always, the coupon code is in the sig. Please use the link in my sig to help a poor guy out.

Thanks again Nick! I had a feeling they'd be having another sale soon. So many things to choose from this time though drool_2 . decisions, decisions.

Yep, I was there the minute they put it up on the AoD forums. Wish I had money right now though, but when I do I'll use the link in your sig.

Glad to see you posted this one first :D

Unfortunately I don't need anything at the moment, and amazingly enough, DVD Planet has started fixing all it's screw ups, so I'm getting more and more DVDs (again).

The thing about people getting 28% off, DVD Planet is 25% off everyday. Now, for the Got Anime members, 35% off is like pre-purchasing at DVD Planet, which is AWESOME for in stock items.

Sorry to be so DVD Planet-centric. I'm actually thinking of prepurchasing most of my Anime through Rightstuf, since their prepurchase prices are generally on par with DVD Planet, plus with the 10% with the Got Anime Membership, I'll save more than a few bucks going through them.

Anyway, if anyone is looking for something to buy, Mahoromatic and Steel Angel Kurumi are 2 of my favorite series at the moment. Definitely worth buying IMO.

I spent 75 bucks and was gonna leave it at that. Then I'm reminded of 2 other series I was meaning to pick up... I hate you, man. wink

As tired as I think the whole "android girl/dorky guy" genre is, Steel Angel was actually pretty good. And I generally like the stuff Gainax puts out, so I figure I have to at least give Mahoromatic a shot...

Between this sale and golf, half of this week's pay is already gone. I remember telling myself I was going to save more money this summer, too...

And because I'm such a nice guy ( :D ), don't forget that BOTH Kurumi and Mahoromatic have second seasons starting to come out in August! :D I'm a bit leary about Kurumi, since the new master is a female, but I'll give it a shot anyway. Gotta love Enomoto Atsuko (Kurmumi's VA)!! She was also the voice of the female lead in Kare Kano (His and Her Circumstances).

.Hack is another good series, too bad disc 1 isn't in stock right now!! (glad I already have it, with the LE box!)

Ai Yori Aoshi is a pretty decent show. Still waiting on disc 3 from DVD Planet (fuckers).

Bastard!! Is Definitely a good series. Whole series on one disc. Can't beat that!

Berserk is good (shitty ending though.)

DNA 2 is a fun watch.

El Hazard OVAs are definitely tops!

Full Metal Panic... yet another good buy.

Generator Gawl was a great series too. Just watched through that again recently actually...

Golden Boy is cool if you're looking for perverted fun. It's not Hentai, but it's still damn perverted!

Legend of Himiko was decent.

Living Sex Toy Delivery.... sounds like a damn fun series :D

Love Hina a definite top contender!

Anyway, enough with my recommendations. Always glad to help other people spend their money! :D

And Nick, if I bookmark Rightstuf using your link, will it still credit you with my purchases? Just wanna make sure...

Living Sex Toy Delivery? I'm tempted to get that for the sole purpose of pissing off my friends (all of whom hate anime). Same reason I picked up Colorful. Antagonizing people is what I'm all about.

If others are looking for recommendations, I'd add...

GTO - funny, fresh
His and Her Circumstances - funny, crazy pacing
Boogiepop Phantom - mysterious, stylish
(won't bother mentioning the more popular series everyone knows about)

And also the mangas for GTO and Love Hina...

As for the link, yeah, a bookmark will work just fine. All of the information that pertains to my program is in the link - I think the only stipulation is people have to buy stuff in the same visit - even closing the browser window nullifies any credit.

The only one I picked up that was a good buy was the Utena, Revolutionary Girl: Apocalypse box with shirt $29.20 shipped with my Got anime. although I could have Bought over $100 and get the shipping free.

http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6827/catalogmgr/RG=5zSAd5Deu6DR137/browse/item/60109/4/0/-838

That would be my pick of best buy.

What's Utena all about? I've heard it recommended before, but it looks girly in a bad way... (Fruits Basket being girly in a good way)

It's about a girl who wants to be a prince. OK, it's a little more complicated than that, but that's the way the series starts off; explaining that Utena wants to be a prince.

This one is really hard to explain, as there is so much that happens and so many twists.

So do you like "enemy of the day" then "enemy of the week" type Anime? In it's purest form, that's about what this show amounts to, if you strip (no pun intended) away the story. Utena does a lot of dueling. There are some comedic episodes thrown in every once in a while, but in just about every one there is a duel of some kind. There is a lot of behind the scenes drama.

The part that sucks? After the first 2 DVDs, all the subsequent DVDs have all of 3 fucking episodes.

I think the series pretty good, but don't know I can recommend it to someone if they don't like the Sailor Moon (it IS better than SM) style Anime.

Fruit Basket rocks! I love the characters and a plot less-story more then half way through the series is cool (ala tenchi).

I generally don't like "bad guy of the week" shows. I was alright with Kenshin because of it's setting and Bebop because of it's strong cast/style, but...

I had just heard in passing (maybe the information is way off) that this show was kind've a "thinker". I like shows that have... I dunno... mystery to them. Eva, Lain, Boogiepop, etc. But if it's just a "fight" show, I'm not sure if it'll keep my attention.

And I ask this question about every series - how's the music?

Personally I like the music a lot. The opening and ending themes are damn good and the song that plays while Utena travels up to the "arena" is pretty sweet as well. Too bad only bootlegs are available of the OSTs.

As far as it being a thinker, yeah I guess it is. Unfortunately I haven't seen all the way through it, so rather than being a "thinker," it's more confusing than anything else. Eva was the same way, and even after seeing it, I needed to watch it again all the way through to even start to get a clue. Maybe I'm just slow? :D

Utena is more then just your fight of the week. I dives into every characters psyche and is full of symbolism. Your left trying to figure out what causes each character to react the way they do. The Fight scene are realy not much to talk about it is what leads up to the fight that is the interesting part of the series. There are also several background stories running. I like it becuase it is also somewhat Trippy for lack of a better word. What sets this anime aside from most is the Unique approach it takes to a story. it is very none standard.

The music is also very uniques, kinda of mix between oprha and j-pop. It is a Clamp series so it has to be somewhat girly wink but very interesting none the less.

the reason I picked it up is because we do not have the boxes at best buy.

is it just me or don't the redesigned boxes for these anime dvd's bother you at all? The right stuff logo on the spine. It feels so boot---. I got a couple of boogiepop phantom dvd's form gamestop and when I got home I noticed they had the logos on the spine, back, dvd's themselves. And they changed the into to the videos to include thier name. I think I'll just buy somewhere else. Any one else bothered by this in the least?

I'm really not sure what you're talking about. Every anime company puts their name on the case, disc, etc. Every company also puts their logo/eyecatch in the opening itself.

You do know that Rightstuf did the release for Boogiepop, right?

no? I thought some company such as adv, pioneer, etc. does series. Isn't right stuf just a distributor? So they only do this with the series that they themselves exclusively put out? or do they do this with all the anime they sell even ones that clearly have other distributors such as pioneer for tenchi?

No, they do this with series they license, translate, dub, and release. Boogiepop, His and Her Circumstances, and Captain Tylor are a few series Rightstuf has put out. They are an online store and a (small) studio.

Anything you buy at Rightstuf is exactly the same as anything you'd but at Bestbuy. They don't mark any merchandise from other companies.
