Well, I finally picked up Clock Tower and Guilty Gear Petit for the Wonderswan. The game comes with this weird ass gimmick that you can attach by adhesive to your directional button, but I'm sorry, it just doesn't seem to work as nice as a joystick for the Neo Geo Pocket. As fighting games go with tight control and a tight joystick, Neo Geo Pocket Color is still king. If I can only overcome the terrible control handicap due to the detached directional buttons, I think I can handle this.
Clock Tower is nice. I've only one complaint: Slow as Fuck! And it seems the heroine Jennifer only moves in a 2d line. When you access some item, she has to sloooooooooowly maneuver to that position, then sloooooooowly use something. My problem is, there's no English faq, so I guess I have to go to the Japanese source. What's up with the fmvs in this game? They are slow too! It's like I'm watching everything in Bullet time without the animation intentionally programmed that way. Right now I can't escape that sick freak with the scissors. Can I defeat him?
I'm having extremely mixed feelings about this console so far. I think they hadn't worked out the optimum hardware to display and competently handle the graphics on this baby, and there hasn't been enough games to catch my interest yet except for simulation games. The colors on Final Fantasy are so difficult to see it's ridiculous, I'm almost about to consider getting a Wonderswan Crystal because the Color just ain't cutting it for me. So far the games I have are:
Densha de Go! and Densha de Go! 2
Terrors and Terrors 2
Graduation [Sotsugyo]
Final Fantasy
