have any of the servers been closed down now?BonusKun:
Heh just PM me when you have it. I'll probably be around online sooner or later.
The most easy ships to hang out in are Anteres 08 and Anteres 10.
I would avoid Vega all in general unless you want to see a real time active War Room on PSO.
Actually the Gamecube version has more quest to play, connects to Europe and Japan servers for international play, and isn't as badly hacked out. X-box version comes with an easy to use keyboard adapter and voice support. Those are the only real differences. I'd take international play, more quest, and no level hacking myself.sonic1687:
how could the gc version be the best?
HOW?!?!
the xbox has everything the gc one has and MORE
saying that the gc versionis better is just the stupidest statment possible

The only servers shut down for the Cube version that I know of where the earlier Japan servers that ran the bugged verion of PSO when it was first released. They fixed the bug, released it in the US, then later replaced the Japanese versions for players and connected the servers.
Gone for a few days and the uninformed comment comes forth.sonic1687:

One of the major differences between the Xbox and GC versions of PSO is the fact you cannot hack the Gamecube version. Peroid.
The only thing people have been able to get away with on the GC is the ability to dupe items.
However thanks to the X-Box's wonderfully designed hardware, the game has been totally hacked wide open.
Weapons that noboby should have, items that were never meant to be in the game. % Values of weapons above and beyond the legal limit.
Character classes equiping Weapons/Armor that was never meant for their class. Androids casting techs ect ect. The Xbox version got royally fucked.
All that the GC got was a minor problem with character corrupution which the Xbox version also has this problem & of course duping.
Everything else i mentioned is exclusive to the Xbox.
Oh and fyi about the Xbox version having more? jesus I swear you should look into what you think you're talking about before you open your mouth.
1st off Online Challange Mode. This is a mode for what most players consider the testing grounds of PSO. You literally start at level 1 with Basic weapons, items, mag and go through each stage of the game without dying.
The levels are preset at each point so you can't get ahead of the game.
I.e. Challange 1 you start at level 1 and Challange 2 you start at level 5.
There are 9 Challange runs in all with a total of 46 Stages in all. The GC version of PSO has had the last Challange uploaded since like 6 Months ago for C-Mode.
The X-Box version had just NOW gotten Challanges 5 & 6 up.
Also there is a quest known as Gallon's Shop in which you trade in an item called a Photon Drop. This quest was open to access since the GC version came out.
The X-Box players are still waiting for it even now.
New Quests on the GC are literally coming out on a near month to month basis. Since the last update on C5 & C6 for the Xbox.
3 Quests for the GC have come up since then with a 4th due out near the end of this coming month.
There is a lot more I could go into concerning details but I think what I'm trying to say is that unless you're actually playing this game, it would be best to keep an uninformed opinion to yourself.
The support of the Xbox version of PSO has been terrible and rightly so people are saying the GC version IS better and with good reason.

There are three online games for Gamecube that I know of. Two being PSO 1 & 2, and PSO 3. The last one I recall was Ghouls and Ghost Online, which will be coming to PC and PS2 as well, if it is still in development. For some reason it seems that the online aspects to Auto Modellestia (sp) were taken out, which is quite puzzling. One nice thing that has recently come to light, and something I had hoped would be the case when Episode 3 was announced, is the fact that your Hunter's License will carry over. Meaning that if you subscribe to PSO 1 & 2, then you can play PSO 3 without paying anything extra. Or if you sign up with Episode 3, you can get yourself online with Episodes 1 & 2 and keep the flat 8.95 a month rate going. I'll definately be playing PSO Episode 3, and I really don't want to pay for more then one online game at a time, I love the fact that I can still pop in PSO 1 & 2 without having to worry about it. On a side note, Episode 3 is currently testing in Japan I believe, and a release would probably be likely before the end of the year if there aren't many problems.genjiglove:
I'd like to get into PSO, but I can't bring myself to buy the game, a network adaptor, and pay the monthly fee. Maybe if there was going to be anymore online GC games, but I don't think there will be. Well, besides the new PSO game thats coming out.
Yeah, I cancelled it, but I can always resubscribe. I figured if i'm gonna play PSO might as well play at home. No use playing online by myself. Plus I felt kinda left out when trying to talk without a KB. I was looking for one at a decent price for a while but if i'm not going to be online I figured why bother. If I find a KB for a decent price, maybe i'll come back.Bluevoodu:
