I have some questions about this game. Ive searched through the forums but many are still unanswered.

So Kizuna Encounter came out on jap homecart, english homecart and euro homecart? Did it? spock

If so why does the price guide only have the euro version listed? spock

How many copies of the english and jap versions are there?

And what happened with the euro version? Why were only like 3 or 4 produced? spock spock

Thanks in advance. Any feedback is appriciated.

supposedly, back in 1996, due to the huge lineup of neo carts, unsold, and presumed unsellable, Euro Kizuna carts were repackaged, probably into Real Bout Specials or KoF 97s.

There was no US Kizuna. I think it's understood right now to be Euro in origin, as everyone seems to have bought their copy from Maro in Germany...

Thanks a lot!

Does anyone know about the jap carts though?

back in 1996, NCS would stock 100 of each territory cart they could buy.

Thing is, Kizuna was not an option back then in English. So they at least had 100 Japanese ones.

this game is very ammusing to talk about since their is so much behind the game.almost like the controversy between the english kof 2000.but if you want to now about kizuna i know some of the jap versions have the gold warning sticker and some do not where the 2 euro versions i have seen do not have them at all.but the best i can say is look in the price guide and click on the link next to euro kizuna and then you will now what most do on these fourms

Yeah, personally I like the name "Fu'un Super Tag Battle" a hell of a lot better than "Kizuna Encounter".

At least it brings to mind a fighting game...

I don't know I always thought Kizuna Encounter Gave it a more thought out name as opposed to Fu'un STB. In looking into the alternative meanings a "Kizuna Encounter" would be where the Opponents are drawn together in a unavoidable meeting by Fate and destiny.

Given the End boss of the Game I think it fits. Bit maybe that's just me :)

That seems like the most likely interpatation of the name.

Well I suppose if its pertaining to the storyline of the game, then yes, it is very appropriate.

But I think "Fu'un STB" is great for describing the main feature of the actual gameplay itself. Which was a fairly new and unique thing for fighting games at the time.

So yeah, whatever... everyone has their own preferences. :p

"Kizuna Encounter" really doesn't sound like a fighting game to me though...
