I've been a member there for a couple years. It was good the first year I joined... then the site grew in size 10x. 11 out of my last 13 deals have backed out. 2 of my last 4 deals that went through had huge problems.

EDIT: So, yeah... it sucks now.

i hate gametz, they believe whoever has higher feedback sends first... I'm not just talking trades, but like my first deal the guy expected me to send the game before he sent the cash... that's just IMO...

I love GameTZ... I gotten so many good deals there.

Like MSH vs. SF and KOF 97 both mint and complete for 40 shipped. This was back in early 2001, a time when MSH vs. SF copies were never on ebay and when they were, they cost 45.

GameTZ has been good to me... I plan to trade a few more times and then that's it. Just need a couple more games....

Only have 2 transactions on Gametz.com

Most people aren't that friendly though....they either ask too much for games or not respond at all

I got many emails saying they want to get my Saturn D&D Collections for $49.....

I didn't know so many people have it that bad on GameTZ. I dunno -- I guess I'm lucky. People respond to my offers 95% of the time, and the people I dealt with, I would say they're some of the nicest gamers I ever met on the internet.

You gotta know where to look. A little luck doesn't hurt either.

The guy who dealt me MSHvSF and KOF 97 was one of my first transactions on GameTZ.
Here is what he had to say about our trade in an email:

Wow, Hey Bro, its good to hear from ya and to hear i had such an effect on you. I was just doing my best to help ya out, cause i remember my first trade (whatta stressful experience) all in a days work hehe

and im glad youve taken such good care of those two, kof97 was my first import ever! it kinda started the whole game collecting thing, bad news is i dont collect anymore = \ , just play whats good and sell it off

anyway ill let ya go, and remember not everyone has good intentions, if ya get burned dont lose the faith hehe

Randy

His writing might not be the best in the world, but he hit on a major point. Not everyone has good intentions, and you just have to go with your gut. So far so good for me.

A biopage says a lot about a person. Before offering any buy or trade, I study the person's biopage, their ratings, their current pending trades, and search their forum posts. You gotta do your homework or you will pay the price.

There are a some good people, but most of them are a bunch of little fuckheads. Let's say you're looking for a used gamecube; you'll find a lot of people with it listed with a comment like, "Not in your lifetime", "Trade me you're soul for it!!", "pricelessss!!". Gimme a fuckin break man, if you don't want to sell/trade take it off your available list.

Steve, I hear you

But for odd reason 95% of people I email didn't reply.

I mean I wasn't asking for rare titles or "expensive" games.

Anyway, I got most of good stuff from Half.com and my local Gamestop...

Surprise, right? ;)

I've used gametz for a while. It's a bit frustrating getting 25 emails a day from someone who wants to trade a 20 dollar PS2 game for Chrono Trigger, but sometime the site pays off. My user name there is 'phywren' if anyone actually wants to see a list of everything I have.

i had some good trades on here the first few weeks i signed on. That was about 2 -3 years ago. You have to go to chat and really find out who the smart / good traders are. it's a good community once you know the people. Alot of lil kids in there too, so watch for that....

Thanks. I keep feeling like I need to actually buy some actual new releases at some point. Other than Ikaruga it's been nearly a year since I've bought a title anywhere near the time it was released.
