As part of its display at the Tokyo Game Show, Capcom is debuting a version of Capcom Vs. SNK 2 Millionaire Fighting 2001 EO, its latest crossover 2D fighter, for the Xbox console. This would normally not be such exciting news, particularly since the EO version lost favor with fans due to its simplified controls, but the proximity of the game kiosks to the Xbox Live display looks to confirm recent rumors that the game will be playable online via Xbox Live in Japan

If the trailer on display is any indication, the game will be visually identical to its Naomi-based arcade counterpart. Check back for the full details and more impressions later in the show.

been their, done that...a year ago on dreamcast.
i love my xbox but this capcom port doesn't excite me, i like to beat up my friends and rub it in their faces not play with someone i dont know. FPS and the like are different because at least you can trash 'type' each other.

I will buy the XBox version, turn the controls to normal, hook up the joysticks and play online as much as I friggin can! This is all they need to charge me $50/year for XBox live!!!

Peace

The fun isn't in owning everyone(ok it is), the fun is playing people who own you. No better enjoyment than to play somone who schools you at a game, makes you want to get better. Thats what online gaming is all about.

I am starting to think that that it is an unwritten rule that Fighting games are not to be played online here in the US. How many times has the land of the rising sun had fighting games online that never see the light of day here?? Every Capcom DC fighting game with the exception of Marval vs. Capcom (1) and JoJo have had online play.

I truly hope that things change and we can finally get some fighting game love online.

Last fighting game played online? Mortal Kombat 2 Xband 1995. What year is it again...2002!! It should not take this long for Fighting games to appear with online play in the US.

X-Box controllers suck it for fighters, lets hope they come out with an arcade stick.

Face it, without 'Joysticks', 2D fighters suck on both XBox and GC starndard pads.

If only you could use the Xbox's Hori Fighting stick made for DOA3......

Check out this little bit of news

September 19, 2002 - As part of its display at the Tokyo Game Show, Capcom is debuting a version of Capcom Vs. SNK 2 Millionaire Fighting 2001 EO, its latest crossover 2D fighter, for the Xbox console. This would normally not be such exciting news, particularly since the EO version lost favor with fans due to its simplified controls, but the proximity of the game kiosks to the Xbox Live display looks to confirm recent rumors that the game will be playable online via Xbox Live in Japan.
We have heard from an inside source that Capcom Vs. SNK 2 will be one of the pack-in titles for Xbox Live. We were recently told that the big pack-in game would not be Revolt, was a title who's franchise we knew, but had not yet seen on Xbox -- and that it was something worthwhile.

While Microsoft has not yet announced the official launch line-up for Xbox Live, we'd put our money on Capcom Vs. SNK 2 leading the pack.
