XBox mod chips

There are so many different types of chips for the Xbox, that it's confusing?

Which one is the best and easiest to install? I've heard there are some that require you to "Swap discs", that would be a pain in the butt.

Now don't go calling me a pirate, I just want to mod my console so I can play the Japanese copy of MvC2 I pre-ordered.
