I love threads like this... because everyone of us come in here... look at the item and go: "What idiot would spend that much for one damn thing"... And you know that somewhere on the net right now there are coin collector pages or some various other group that post something like "You think we spend a lot for stuff, check out this game auction!"... and get responses like, "...that is so rediculous, $3500 for one game?!"

Just wanted you to realize the horrible irony here... thats all :D

This is almost scary. I was going to post the exact same thing, and before I made the post I went to have breakfast, only to come back here and somebody else already did it. Crazy..

Serious numismatic pursuits make ALL video game collecting (yes, even Neo-Geo) efforts seem like small potatoes.

Call me an uncultured heathen, but I really can't see anything wrong with that coin.

Would anyone like to buy my special copy of KoF96, which features a unique stain on the insert where SNK's printer jammed and smudged ink all down Kyo's face........ <img src="graemlins/loco.gif" border="0" alt="[Loco]" />

Same applies to almost any kind of collecting you could imagine. This bottle of Irish Whiskey for example OWNS metal slug 1 value wise:

And just think, you only get to play with this ONCE. Videogame collecting is still in its infancy, I'm sure things will get a lot worse before they get any better.

And thanks for providing Thursday's word of the day. "numismatic" I'm so glad I looked that up, thats sure to come in handy
