Loved this game, very similar to Ikaruga but more complex I guess. Each button (ABC) different weapons/functions. The R button throws out the Radiant Sword which is used to kill enemies, or get the bullets similar to the shield in Ikaruga.

Gameplay is very similar, lotsa enemies and bullets everywhere. But I would say this game is much easier to beat compared to Ikaruga. Stage structure is very similar to ikaruga, but here you can choose to advance to diff level once you finish a particular level. Finished level 1 can go to 2 or 4 i think?

well that's what i think, it's worth the money you're going to pay for it.

I guess I'm the man to talk to about this.

I've always said to buy the STV version, but now I definitely see a bonus to getting the saturn version (if you plan on seriously playing it, that is).

1) you have a thousand more boss battles.

2) you have save options with level select so you can practice levels (it kinda sucks when I practice this and I have to go through each stage)

I'm not sure half the people realize how deep this game is. Many people see the level of difficulty, and think that it's a regular shooter where completing the game is the purpose - but they've been fooled. This is really a "play for points" game. The idea is not to blast everything that is thrown at you. The idea is to destroy your enemies in a certain order (I'm not going to go through the details about that - I've had a wonderful experience writing my personal FAQ for the game, and wouldn't want to deprive anyone of the joy), using each of your 7 weapons during specific times to get the maximum amount of points. Even simply killing the bosses is second priority. You can get 10x the amount of points is you completely dissect your enemy (literally), and destroy each individual part of their body (each gun, arm, link, etc).

Truely a masterpiece - and I'm certainly not a Treasure fanboy - ask chainsawyak about the details on that.

Heh... I forgot to add the 3rd reason to get the Saturn version: It's easier.

The premise for the weapons system is like an RPG - except based on points. At cetain point levels, your weapons become stronger (around 20 million points will MAX your weapons out at 33).

You can get 100'sK to millions of points in each of those extra boss battles the saturn has, hence the lower difficulty.

This is indeed a great game with great music. But...

I thought I'd love it. I thought, "hey, a highly praised treasure shoooter that goes for 150$? This can't all be buzz." I really think, that although it's a great game, it is all buzz. In my opinion, Ikaruga is a better experience all around.

I dont want the RS fans to come in dancing around saying, "You didnt spend enough time with it!" Yeah i did, you goobers.

I would play a burned copy first Tonk; if its your cup of tea, shell out the 150. Otherwise...buy two more copies of Ikaruga :D
