Title basically says it all, I want to know what ages does the Neo appeal to, do gamers get to a certain age and then stop playing?
Also how long have you been collecting / playing Neo?
Neo home and MVS gamers only please.
To start things off I am 22 and have been collecting Neo for about 1.5 years now.

The Neo has always been an adult-oriented system. I would say their target audience was anywhere from 15 - 50 years of age. After 50 guys stop fooling around with the little things in life (IE: video games) and get ready to die.

I'm 21, have been an MVS collector for the last two years now and have been a Neo fan for the past 8 years (ever since Samurai Shodown was released. That game realed me in).

The Neo-Geo is in fact an Adult-Arcade-System.
Just take a look at the prices. But i won´t say that the Neo is for older guys[and girlz] only.
I would say the range is from 15 - open end!!!
Believe me, i´ll play Neo in 60years... *i hope so* :D
I´m 24@time, and have started collecting AES for over 9years. I can remember the day, when i´ve played "Art of Fighting" the first time...
TODAY, 3 of my BEST-FRiENDS still have a Neo-Geo too, looking forward!!!

I don't remeber what magazine it was in but when I saw the Neo-Geo I wanted it imediately. However, the low-low price was beyond what I (my parents) could afford. Today I have the sources, friends, and ebay to collect anything and everything that I wanted (still want) back then. Now I have fourteen different systems and over a hundred different games and I try to play each one a little bit every now and then. I can easily see myself well into my retirement years playing Zelda (NES),Phantasy Star IV, Ys Book I & II, Chrono Trigger, Mario Paper, Lunar, Chrono Cross, you name it. Why? Because I'm a gamer for life and the Neo-Geo is a great "new chapter" in my collection/life.

My dad is 51, and he's always on one of my systems.

I remember way back when the Neo Geo AES was first released in the USA. Playboy Magazine featured it as one of the hot adult toys that year. So, it appears that it did initially appeal to the adult population as it still does today, at least for me.

I am 32 and got bored of playing video games about 5 years ago except for a few months recently last year when I got the urge back, now I rarely play again and so I am getting new games to try and re-ignite my once passion.

Thats where I first heard of Neo Geo.
It was about the time I just got the SNES,and I was like "What the hell is this !"
At first I thought it was some kind of joke because the phone number SNK USA had was a double 800 Number (1-800-800 ...)
After a few weeks I bought it Electronics Boutique, even though I never even played it yet :)

Anyway I'm one of the oldest I know of into Neo Geo @ 37 years old

Well, I'm 23 and have been playing neo since 1990 of course. I finally found someone that I could purchas a Neo Sytems off of. <img src="graemlins/tickled.gif" border="0" alt="[Tickled]" /> which of course makes me very happy.
The only thing that really make me say that its more adult orientated would have to do with the heafty price tag. Otherwise I have had friends with rich parents that bought them Neo's back in the 90's.

I'm 20, I've been playing neo since as a kid (literally) at the arcades... then I got a neogeo-cd way later, and when I started collecting videogame consoles I got my oh-so-loved NeoGeo AES system :-)

IMO, the NeoGeo games are made for *everyone* with good taste for games: they have violence (yay), bouncing boobs (yay), lots of humor... and as an extra, ENGRISH! What else could you possibly want?! :-D

You know what I like about the Neo? That's its a small, targeted, niche market! It never meant to be a nintendo or a sega. I like that. I also like that it's expensive so it keeps the rif-raf out of the system.

We all know that if the system was as broad as the sega genesis, it wouldn't be as popular as it is now.

I got into the Neo system back in 91/92. I first played it in the arcade next to Street Fighter 2 and Mortal Kombat. After I saw the AOF, I knew that I would have to buy one.

I was a HARDCORE neo gamer back in the late ninties. Then I sold it to buy a super computer. Well, I am glad to say that I am back into the system more than ever and have a great, starter collection.

No other system is as "fun" to play/collect as the Neo. I think everyone on the forums will have to agree with me here.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I am 23 years old!

I'm 17. I've Been drool'n over the neo-geo since I was a wee boy.I've always been enchanted by how elite the neo has always been. But in 1997 the local arcade got a mvs with Metal Slug, SS1, SS2, and I think kof 95.....jesus if i saved the coins I could own that machine by now. The only current neo system I own is the pocket. But soon a 1 slot mvs or a supergun will be mine.

I'm 25. I remember EB (and even funco) carrying Neo Geo back in the early 90's. I could never afford it at that age, tho.

Got my Neo back in '95 for Samurai Shodown II. I remember getting it from a private party with World Heroes 2, King of the Monsters, Super Spy, Crossed Swords. SS1 and 2 were a few of my first games.
