Do you prefer 2 player co-op, or Vs. games?

Co-op man. I've been playing fighters for so long, I've forgotten how fun 2 player co-op games are. Metal Slugs, shooters, it rocks!

How about you?

I depends on who I'm with. If I'm with the boyz it's Vs. all the way, if I'm with my old lady it's co-op 'till the morning

Anyone who says vs. has to play Doom II on the Ultra-Violence setting cooperatively with a friend or three. Upon beating it you will change your mind.

Co-op games are only fun if you're playing alongside a COMPETENT player. Nothing pisses me off more than a scrub jumping on the MVS next to me when I'm playing something like MS3.

I couldn't agree with you more on this

Nothing pissed me off more when I was going for a high score on Shock Troopers in the arcade, only to have some moron join in and start shooting enemies I was trying to get more points out of through close-range attacks. I usually ended up trying to tell people that the other side was broken.

Yeah, it depends. Co-op is usually more fun, but Vs offers a kind of competition you can't have with a CPU. Around my house, the only games people will play are co-op, because they are all afraid that I will beat them

Co-op. A friend and I used to play Co-op Marathon on the Mac.

I generally prefer Co-Op or sometimes competitive co-op (hehehe... like the original Mario Brothers game. :p )

Although the occasional VS party games are fun too (BomberMan (TG), Circuit Breakers(PS), Burnout (Amiga)).

hehe... during the Shadow of Mystara years, we had ways of dealing with scrubs who jumped into a game at the wrong time. You couldn't hurt them directly, mind you, but there were ways. A thrown treasure chest here. Reactivate a trap there. Hide in the corner and let them go 1 on 1 against a boss. And don't get me started on what a cleric could do with a well-timed striking spell.

Back to the topic, vs games and especially fighters are the best, they bring the challenge to a level that coop games either can't reach or have to sacrifice the fun factor to reach.

I like both. Most important is the game actually has a 2-Player mode because it is soo much more fun.

Why? I did this, and I didn't see anything special at the end... in fact I thought Co-op Doom II, while fun, was a little pointless. Why? You don't have to worry about dying. Die, and you respawn, and everything you've blown to hell is still... well, blown to hell. Deathmatch is where it's at.

Depends on my mood.

If it's just me and another gamer, I prefer co-op. If it's me in a room full of gamers, I like vs. or/and group vs.

Sometimes I want a nice co-op game like Metal Slug. Other times, a death to the duel Puzzle Fighter will do.
