I got me some Euros exchanged when i was at the bank today. We don't use euros as primary currency here in sweden yet but have been abit fuzz about it anyways, some shops take it and most banks are short of larger notes.

It think the notes are quite small for their value. Hope can check the coins soon also.

We too have a lot of hassle because of the damn Euro, like in buses or in shops the drivers and desk clerks hassle a lot `cause, and It takes like minutes before they figure out the exact amount of change... And I thought these people have trained it <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

I'd hate to be a cashier in Europe right now.

Bleh to the Euro.

Each country should've been allowed to stick to their own currency- drachma, lira, D-Mark, franc, etc. That's a rich part of a country's identity and history.

I'm a bit leery of the concept of the European Union. I wouldn't like it if someone tried to put Canada, USA, Mexico, and Central America under a similar umbrella with some harmonized currency.

I've got a French 1 Franc piece from 1970. It's about the size of a quarter. Wonder if it'll have any collectors' value sometime...

Heck, try being close to the Canadian border!

My college friend was from North Dakota, he said a good 20-50% of the cash floating around the state was Canadian. If you had the Canadian currency (Which everyone did to some level), it sucked whenever the US$ gained on the CA$ and it lowered in value.

It's funny, but I remember this guy sued a radio station because he won a call in contest that said if you were the ninth caller you could win "a million." Well, he got a million all right, a million lire!
