I hate it when arcade operators are too lazy to set up games with proper button layouts. We actually have an MVS kit cab that uses one of those and then a standard button for its "four button" layout, I have been meaning to tear it apart and make it into a proper machine the next time it gets brought back to the warehouse.

Yeah, I think that totally sucks ass. Here in Holland they sell one of those Street Fighter II cabs with the exact same button control panel. How can you actually play like that anyways..

I have never seen a tri-button like that before. Thank god! Looks fitting for Simon game, not fighting.

I feel sorry for the poor fucks that had to play on that shit. They probably had to have several fingers amputated from the sever finger contorting needed to play SFII. I see many class action lawsuits aimed at this arcade operator....

I remember playing Captain Commando on one of those tri-button configs. Not too bad!

Is this config a way for operators to save money, or did some game co. conceive it specifically for a certain type of game?

Another converted williams game. Probably Joust. Those tri buttons are bad, however I'd take them over a vertically mounted microswitch.

What do they call those "twist knobs" used in Guerilla War, Victory Road, Ikari Warriors, Arkanoid, Heavy Barrel? Twist Knobs? Those are weird-ass controls.

What a fugly control panel.

Looks like the operator was too lazy to drill for extra buttons. This would be almost as awkward as trying to play SFII with the "smash" buttons originally found on the SF I deluxe cab.

That's some wacked-out schite.

Anyway, Jigen, what's the deal with the quote in your sig about the return to the essence of gaming? It sounds somewhat familiar, like something from an ad of some sorts. <IMG SRC="smilies/confused.gif" border="0">
