This is just something I have to ask around. I hear that such and such a controller sucks, and this other one is good. And I just don't tend to agree.
Here goes:
Panasonic 3D0 controllers.
Good buttons:
- good size
- enough buttons for quite a few games (okay, so it doesn't have 4 or 6 face buttons, but not many games used them all.)
- long cord
- headphone plug w/volume control
- controller port built in (no need for multitaps, just get 8 controllers and you can play 8 player Fifa!
)
Dreamcast Controllers:
The analog stick and pad are both easily accessible, the analog shoulder buttons are great. I like the idea of having 2 ports to plug in memory cards, jump packs, etc.
Gamecube controllers:
It might take a bit of getting used to, but after a few bouts of Mario Sunshine you really get to learn how the whole thing is organized. The analog stick is in a good spot, but the D-Pad isn't right. I like how the face buttons are placed, it's fairly intuitive once you know where they are. The "Z" button can be a bit tricky however. The "C" stick is in a good spot as long as you don't have to use it often during play. Oh, and the analog/digital shoulder buttons work well too.
