To this day, I've always hated Epoisodes I and II.

The fact that they're 'more technically advanced' than episodes 4-6 is laughable.

Episode II really stunk - it revolved around a 'love' story.

Ohhhh, not Srat Wars.... "Star Wras".... For a moment there I thought you were saying the new Srat Wars movies were crap... And I agree, but Star Wras... nahhh, they rule... Now of course those Star Wars movies blow a big one.... but that is a different topic all together :)

I agree...the new movies suck.

They don't at all capture the feeling of Star Wars. It's just another overhyped, overpriced, big budget Hollywood flick which sucks ass. Spiderman did better than Episode 2 I recall reading somewhere. I have absolutely no interest in Episode 3 as it can't possibly be much better. Lucas needs to learn CG isn't always a good thing. He seems to be getting off on CG overkill. Everything looks fake.

Episodes I and II made me realize that Star Wars is only held in high regard because of 2 things.

1: Harrison Ford
2: Kerry Fisher

Because they apparently re-wrote a lot of their own scripts, and Harrison Ford delivers the lines well. After all he is famous for saying:-

"Sure you can write this rubbish George, but only I can say it"
(And, boy, does he ever have a good point)

The latest 2 films had some of the most rotten dialogue I've ever heard. I mean, you just don't give someone like Sammuel L Jackson the shitty lines that he got! I've heard better scripts during an episode of Burn-up Excess and Excel Saga!
And as for some of Anikin's lines........

"I hate sand, its so rough - not like you though"

Whaaaa?!?!?! Well as pick-up lines go at least its different, but no ammount of CGI effects can hide the travesty of storytelling and dialogue that was Episode II.
Admittedly, I didnt mind Phantom Menace, but I can watch pretty much any old garbage so long as it tries to be entertaining throughout - which episode II was most certainly not. All the action happend in the first and last 30 minutes of the film - with bugger all inbetween to keep me awake.

The fact is George Lucas is a horrible writer.
(watch his biography on A&E he admits his filthy secret).

I saw the new ones because they are Star Wars, and they are new, and you just HAVE to see it out of curiosity. I knew they were going to suck but I saw them anyway. Good thing I saw the twilight super saturday matinee at the local AMC.

Episode II is crap. I read dozens of scripts and plots wrote by fans much much better than the one that George Lucas finally used.
Episode I wasn't too bad for me, but Episode II has killed all my faith in these series.

See, the biggest difference from the first series and the current one is the characters.

The first series had excellent characters that had serious and humourous sides. Han, Leia, Chewbacca and Lando were all entertaining and played very well off each other.

The current series is much too serious with the only comedy relief belonging to the droids. The droids were not the only comedic pieces in the first series.

All of the current characters are far too serious, something none of the heroes from the first film were (save for Obi Wan, but he was the wise old teacher). Even Yoda was hilarious the first time you see him in Empire Strikes Back.

Other than that, the plot would have flowed much better had the characters been better designed. Jar Jar Binks is NOT funny. George should have had different directors for this series like he did in the first series.

Compared to the origional 3 , the new ones are abolute shit !

Just goes to show special effects are not everything.

For me the new movies were a total bore fest.

Nothing new or different , just the on going story, which in my opinion should have ended long ago.

I see Star Wars going the way of the Star Trek films, just more of the same, becoming less and less interesting as they come out.

OH GOD!

I totally forgot to mention the only GOOD thing in Episode 2 (attack of the, um, jangos) was Samuel L. Jackson being all bad-assy and jedi-ish.

And how does a movie featuring about 5 dismemberments (most of which are heads) get a friggen PG rating?

The seen in episode 2 where Anakin is talking to Amadala on her balcony in her hideaway home has what can only be described as "porno dailogue".

Star wars franchise = cash cow
Matrix = real science fiction
