Episodes I and II made me realize that Star Wars is only held in high regard because of 2 things.
1: Harrison Ford
2: Kerry Fisher
Because they apparently re-wrote a lot of their own scripts, and Harrison Ford delivers the lines well. After all he is famous for saying:-
"Sure you can write this rubbish George, but only I can say it"
(And, boy, does he ever have a good point)
The latest 2 films had some of the most rotten dialogue I've ever heard. I mean, you just don't give someone like Sammuel L Jackson the shitty lines that he got! I've heard better scripts during an episode of Burn-up Excess and Excel Saga!
And as for some of Anikin's lines........
"I hate sand, its so rough - not like you though"
Whaaaa?!?!?! Well as pick-up lines go at least its different, but no ammount of CGI effects can hide the travesty of storytelling and dialogue that was Episode II.
Admittedly, I didnt mind Phantom Menace, but I can watch pretty much any old garbage so long as it tries to be entertaining throughout - which episode II was most certainly not. All the action happend in the first and last 30 minutes of the film - with bugger all inbetween to keep me awake.
