Do you spend > $100 or < $100

I just spent too much.

In my part of the country, I have to pay for the police dept. They tact on another 6% on all firework sales in Union City CA. The police trying to cash in on the festivities.

My guess is 911 put all police and fire dept over budget.

So stay safe and watch your speed on the 4th to avoid the needed budget short-fall traffic tickets.

I find it cheaper to draw stuff in the street with lighter fluid/gasoline/or any other flammable liquid that is handy and light that on fire. Looks cooler.

We usually spend about $150-$200 each year at the Phantom Fireworks in PA. You can get a hell of a lot of goodies for that price range thanks to their amazing deals. We used to go to South of the Border to this place called Jabs before we found out about Phanton on the net.

We went there for years and the prices were slightly better than Phantoms', but it was a 6 hour drive compared to a 2 1/2 hour drive. Phantoms' specials and selection are better anyway which makes it just that much sweeter.

We won't be able to make it to PA this year though as my mom has surgery on Thursday, but I still have some odds and ends left over from last year's 4th of July. I believe I have about 60 or so packs of Wolf Pack bottle rockets laying around here somewhere..... buttrock buttrock buttrock

I used to spend about $300 every ID4 since me and my droogs used to have "Hana-Bi" wars with Roman Candles and all kinds of shit... carrying out mock up Commando Raids with the stuff.

Walking towards eachother firing off the Roman Candles... deflecting them with Cardboard sheilds.

Cramming M-82s up ppl's tail pipes and blowing them to shit... Dropping Cherry Bombs into mail boxes and trash cans and watching them shrapnel into the annoying cat (circa 88-89 don't remember which). All this while carrying those "Real Looking" Larami and Intertech Water Guns that were mock ups of Kalishinikovs, M-16s, Uzi etc.

Growing up in the 80's with fireworks was a blast... but then then we all grew up (sort of) and went our differing ways and would freak if we saw kids doing the dumb ass shit we used to do, though I'm sure there's some Guerrillas in the misty haze of Black Cats and Saturn Rocket launchers. :)

I used to live in Union City for 15 years. They never did that when I lived there. When did they start that 6% thing on the fireworks.

Nothing because:

1.) Economy sucks, why blow what little expendable income I have on fireworks?

2.) They are illegal in Anticeptachusetts.

3.) If I were to buy them from New Hampshire, firecrackers and other explosive fireworks are not sold anyway. And cops are on all major roads connecting to and from firework stores.

4.) Paraphrasing that engineer guy from Armageddon, I don't want to girlfriend to be relegated to opening my ketchup bottles for me.

In English:
Believe me I love lighting off fireworks but they are too risky.

In Translated Kanji:
You know me fish of harddrive, I love to light risky breast plant.

Yeah, sometimes I go to my dad's friend's 4th of July party and he shoots off some stuff... other than that, I might go to one of the schools around here or something where they have some shows, but I really don't care about it personally... It's only explosions afterall...

I remember when I was probably about 7 or 8 years old, right across from me, in the ghetto, some of the local thugs put on a huge show, completely illegally... It was pretty cool though... except for that one that nearly hit my condo building (no joke). They had a shit load of stuff, and to this day, I find it amazing that nobody got the cops on their arses since we have old people livng around here... and you know how they are with that stuff...
