How do I go about a paypal chargeback? I bought a famicom off a guy a couple weeks back, and it doesn't work.

He stopped responding to my mails last friday.

I think I need to do a chargeback soon.

HELP! The money was sent on the 18th of Sept.

If it doesn't work, I may be interested in buying it from you depending on the condition and what's included. Send me a PM and a pic...

call the customer service at paypal.... they'll let you know.

Did you put it on your CC?
If so start calling your credit card company ASAP!

Paypal most likely won't do anything about it.... uinless the guy has money in his account.
SO your CC is the back up resource to refute the charge.

Then you need to contact PayPal and file an official complaint with them. If you had paid by CC, it would have been a lot easier, all you'd do is call your CC company and dispute the charge (fill out a form and fax it back to them most likely, thats it). With PayPal it will probably be more of a hassle, but you should get the ball rolling ASAP.

Log into your account, click on "help", click on the link for buyer protection policy.

It should have a link to initiate a chargeback. You provide the Paypal transaction number and the reason for the chargeback.

Hope this helps,

Hope I can get my money back :)

WOW. Paypal denied my claim... Something about they don't guarantee the items, just their pay service...

What other options do I have?

None, looks like your money is gone. No way to do a CC chargeback since you didn't pay by CC. Your last option is to leave him a flaming negative feedback and warn others not to do business with him, ever. By all means, DO leave that feedback, because it helps others to avoid his ripoffs!

In the meantime, if you want to get at least some of your money back, I'll buy the Famicom from you for a fair price.

Let me know!

Yah, good idea. I definately will if he doesn't get back to me soon. I'm gonna give him another week or 2 for good measure.

He said he'd refund me, minus shipping an paypal fees. That's messed though.

If I send him the system, I may never get anything out of him again.

This sucks.

Also, he already left positive feedback for me.

If I don't get my money back or whatever, and I get him with a neg feedback, can he still get me somehow?

HAHA, if he already left a positive, then there's nothing he can do . . . you should simply tell him that you'll be leaving a negative, and see if he moves on his refund. But I have a feeling that this seller won't come through, and he'll just string you along at best. The negative is the only final option you have, but I guess you could give him an absolute ultimatum: refund ALL of your money, or he gets a negative. Thats bullshit that he's trying to deduct shipping and Ebay fees . . . just wrong.
