There are alot of "hard core" gamers on this site and I was wondering if any of you used switch boxes to hook multiple systems up to your TVs. My roomate got one of the cheap analog ones from best buy but the quality loss is SUPER noticable. I remember seeing one online store that had a really nice digital one that you could hook five devices into at one time. Also with the nicer more expensive digital boxes does anyone notice a difference if you daisy chain them together.

Any links or info would be apreciated.

This is the one I use for my game tv.

The PS2 and Xbox that I have using Component cables are hooked directly to my tv with the optical cable going to my receiver.

I've got a Sony SB-V55A switcher box and I couldn't be happier with it.

Dude listen, I got duped into getting the "Sony" brand box just because I thought the picture would be cleaner. I then bought 2 of the Pelican switchers and I saw no difference. Go with the Pelican. It aslo comes with a free S-Video cable! I have my Sony and 2 Pelican switchers all daisy chained together and all the games on all systems look fine. All are in S-Video.

Pelican=20.00
Sony=60.00

Plus the Pelican has little plastic labels for each system!

I use 2 boxes, each one allows up to 3 RGB-Scarts devices to be connected.
They have 3 switches on the front to select the device your using.
One of them has a custom-made stereo-out mod.

Dont buy those boxes without switches like those 5in1, I have one and the picture quality is degrades if you have more than 1 scart plugged in, and you can screw up your systems if you have more than one device working at the same time.

I am using two boxes. One S-Video switch box, and one 'composite' switch box that I'm using as a Component switch box.

Both were purchased from Radio Shack, and there is zero detectible signal degradation.

I have an Ascii 6-input box with S-video. Really, any switch box like that should be fine. There are no electronic devices in the box, so there shouldn't be any quality loss no matter what brand you buy (unless it's some POS Walmart kind or something).

This is the same box I have, ASCII switcher with 6 inputs and one output (and s-video or composite video for all inputs/output). I hate the lame 4-input boxes, not enough sources. The ASCII box is excellent, haven't seen too many other boxes with this many input sources. Highly recommended, but good luck finding one, they're not common at all . . .

If you could direct me to where you bought this device, I would be very appreciative.

I still have an old Archer Radio Shack A/V switch box that's ten years old and still works perfectly with no loss in picture quality. It has 4 inputs but I recently purchased Intec's 5 input switcher since it has S-Video connectability and works perfect for my higher end systems and electronics.

I HIGHLY recommend the Intec switcher as it also comes with a fre A/V and S-Video cable as well as plastic labels for the different inputs already pre-printed (Dreamcast, N64, Gamecube, Playstation, PS2, XBOX, VCR. DVD, and Other)
