It probably wont see that big of a production run.

Most people that wanted it already have it for dreamcast.

well there's certainly gonna be more than 300 copies.

Treasure milking their fans, that's disrespectful.

if they are releasing this game for the Cube...... there will be 100,000 copies at least.... I mean, even some of the worst Games sell more than that.

Ikaruga is a cool game. It will catch on. I honestly think they need to give the US a chance.

I honestly don't think it will sell 100,000 copies in the US. Aside from us hardcore gamers, the general public simply isn't interested in the shooter genre. How well did Mars Matrix and the Giga Wing games sell on the DC when they were released? How about any shooters on the PS?

I think the majority of today's gamers are either too young to appreciate a good shooter, or were simply burned out on them back in the 16-bit days. Just my observations...

Shooters sold pretty well.

Raiden on the Ps2 sold decently

Gradius sold well on the GBA...

There is just not a "real different" shooter out there.

There are a lot more fans of shooters than you think.

Well, I don't want to start a flame war because I know that a lot of people are DC lovers and also think Mars Matrix kicks ass... But to the average gamer I think this game gives the shooter genre a bad name, and I (being a shooter lover) also think it sucks. It's just not artistic in the way that RS or Ikaruga is. The patterns of bullets and ways to do chains in those games are just fantastic. Mars Matrix is kinda of like... Every enemy shoots 100 bullets at you and you need to get the fuck out of the way and then absorb at the right time. I don't want to go into it, but I don't think that Mars Matrix deserved to do well here and I can't see how anyone not into shooters would be pulled in by it. Ikaruga is a lot different.

eh. 6800 yen is the average in Japan for almost all the new releases.

You think thats a high price?
Take a look at the PC game prices over there. They are ridiculous.

They make them in large enough batches that they shouldn't cost 300 dollars. The excuse before was always that memory cost so much, so now that memory is cheap suddenly the plastic is the expensive part? Cockholster.

Don't you twist my words arouund you son of a bitch. When did i ever mention memory in any of my posts?

You forget that only a handful of employees work at evoga. These people need paying for their work just like anybody else. When they are making games for a 10 year old system they need to set the prices accordingly to make a profit, so they can , um, yknow? keep their jobs. Ikaruga sells 100,000 copies no problem, that's a shitload of profit for Treasure as the production cost for a cd-based game and a common as fuck DVD box /insert is more or less FREE when your buying in bulk of 100,000 pieces. 300 clam-shell cases DO cost a lot to manufacture, there was a thread in here a few months back about neo fans wanting replacement snap-lock cases, and the answer was a resounding NO as demand and final price would not cover the manufacturing. also, there are probably a simular amount of employees at playmore as in treasure. so when a company sells 100,000 copies to make a profit compared to the one that makes 600, that's your damn reason the carts cost so much. jesus fucking christ that teach this kind of stuff in school, you illiterate moron.

I couldn't agree with you more. I play and enjoy Mars Matrix only because I'm starving for new shooters. Gotta take what you can get, etc.
