http://www.nintendo.com/games/topten.jsp

Check the right side of the page in the most wanted list section. Dam, OOT took only a month to translate from Japanese to english.

Next year must be a dry year for the big N if they are delaying Zelda to Summer.

Looks like I am going to finally get some use of that mod switch for my Gamecube to play imports after all.

Hmmm....how much does the mod switch cost?

June of 2003 is kind of long to wait for the US copy. I was sort of hoping to have this game come out in the US by the end of the year. I don't understand why they don't just translate while they are working on the game, it'd save so much time.

That's what they did with Zelda OOT. As far as the mod switch it cost me about 70 bucks. Actually I bought a Japanese system with a mod switch so I could play US games on it. I was planning on waiting for the US release but once I saw that they released Rogue Squadron early I bought a Japanese system with a mod switch and was playing RS a week before most people

Then I assume you can read Japanese perfectly? If not, sounds like a big waste of money to me. This kind of game isn't a simple arcade style, thus is probably filled with kanji text . . . if you can't read it, as is the case with 99% of U.S. gamers, then its not worth it.

amai da yo! watashi wa americajin, soshite nihongo ga dekinai to omou ka? baka

Yeah, I can read a fair share of it... so now what? No need to insult me dude.

Edit: Oh, and I can get through OOT (I have that in Japanese as well on the N64) just fine. There's actually more kanji that I know that they DIDN'T use, such as "boku", "omae", and "mori".

Well that is good news! It said June 2003 yesterday so maybe it was a mistake. Cool.

Not insulting you, Spike. Just saying that 99% of gamers can't read kanji and therefore don't have the luxury (as you do) of understanding what is going on in Japanese games. Of course shooters like Ikaruga are no problem for this, but games like Zelda are . . . thus, importing the game is not worth it. Thats all.

Oh and I do know that "baka" means stupid, no need to insult me when all I did was point out an obvious situation with kanji text.

It isn't as harsh as you think it is... there wasn't a great deal of malice towards you. ;)

Oh yes... BTW:

Nintendo says that it's still on for Feb/March. So, maybe Americans won't have to wait as long after all? A couple of websites says so, and even the official Nintendo site says so. Here's to hoping.
