I do a heavy work out every other day as you are usually told to do and skip days. But in between days I do minor work outs so I am lifting weights almost everyday. What do you people do? Also I am about 5,10" or 5,11" in height and about 147-150 lbs in weight depending how much I eat. Do you people think that's good? How much do you work out and what are your heights and weights?

I work out about four times a week. I am basically the same build as you, but I am in the 153-156 range in weight (I used to be 210)

Some weeks I work out more than others.

Are you about the same height? And is this a good height weight combination?

There's this f'n cool way to find out if you're the proper weight and height. It's called BODY MASS INDEX (or BMI for short) and it's easy to figure out with a calculator.
I don't have the formula right now but I can get it if you like. It's very nifty, in my opinion.

Happy New Year!

BMI is passably decent. But to some, like w/ my body, it's totally wrong. I laugh everytime I see it--and I see it all the time. You need way more test to know what kind of shape you are in. And you probably don't need it.

Most people don't need this, but if you want to know if you are getting a proper work out or not, I suggest going to Wellness centers or quality Fitness centers that can make your program for you, after testing for your body fat % (tank is better), VO2 max, BMI, etc.

Hmm, never been exposed to the other side of BMI, Terry. But, it's good to have two perspectives on things.
Still, it's fast to figure out, free of charge, and hell why not. LOL. I'll dig it up for yall to fool around with.

I'm usually at school Monday through Thursday, so I do my workouts then and there, between classes. On Friday I don't do anything, it's my only day off. On Saturday and Sunday I do physical labor ALL DAY, so I feel four days is enough. Here is our schedule. I do 3 sets per exercise. Each workout lasts one hour. My weight is 175 and my height it 6'0".

(Monday)
Back - 4 exercises
Triceps - 2 exercises
(Tuesday)
Cardio - 30 minutes
Shoulders - 2 exercises
Abs - 1 exercise
(Wednesday)
Legs - 4 exercises
Biceps - 2 exercises
(Thursday)
Cardio - 30 minutes
Chest - 2 exercises
Abs - 1 exercise

I'm 6' 170, never work out. I used to run track in highschool, so I still have old muscles. If you're almost 6', at 150... I guess you really need to work out. I don't know why, but I imagine that height/weight ratio a little on the skimpy side.

I think at 5'10" or 5'11" and 150lbs. you would be better off skipping the light workout days, and just stick with the heavy workouts every other day.You need to put on about 20-30lbs of lean muscle and the light workouts are just burning too many calories.Spend those days eating!!

(I'm assuming you want to get a little bigger!!)I don't know how much you eat,but it should be in the 4,000 calorie-a-day range.Lots of low glycemic carbs(potatoes, brown rice, pasta etc)and a lot of protein.Even a weight-gain protein powder could help. You're in an enviable position, with hard workouts, and lots of anabloic causing foods, you can get much bigger and stronger faster than a lot of people!!
Since I'm 6'0" and 215,I have to watch my calories, and do much cardio besides working out to achieve my results.
The most thing though,is just KEEP AT IT!!
And good luck!!

Wow! I would say that's a tad bit too light for your height. I'm 6 foot, and weigh in at around 195. I'm not fat, either.

In fact, when I tell people to guess my weight, it's usually around the 170 mark.

I'd put on about 10 lbs, and say stop.

Yeah!! I kind of figured that when I and 2 other guys were helping me bring my neo candy cab down to my basement. I was constantly scared that I would not be able to lift it down while the other 2 were not scared at all.
