ok finally got around to playing FF9 and i must say its heaps better than 7,8 and 10 in my opinion. best final fantasy since six i say. anyone here agree or disagree?

I agree, I love ff9. I always though ff7 was average, loathed ff8, and right now am undecided on ff10. FF9 has a cool story, just a shame it was so short.

i felt that 8 lacked any kind of charm and i liked 7 for the first disc but then i found it kinda boring as they started indulging in battle effects over and over again. 10 was one of the reasons i got my PS2 (ICO was #1 reason and is great BTW) and man was i disappointed it lost so much of its grand sense by killing the world map. far too linear especially after ive been playing Black Isle's RPG series over the last couple years.
