I decided to try Turok Evolution for Gamecube , and the loading time is godawful , and my Gamecube sounds like its having seizures when its loading between levels .

My 2 questions are :

Is it normal for this game to act in this manner ? : I have 4 other Gamecube games and none present this problem .

Does this game have better load times on the other systems ((X-BOX - PS2)) and if so wich one is better ?

My Gamecube sounds like its in dire pain when its loading this game I dont want to destroy my Gamecube trying to play .

NOTE : the disc is NEW no fingerprints , scratches , or other obscuritys .

I have tried 2 different Turok Evolution discs with the same results , it might be my Gamecube that has the problem .

From what I hear, the GCN has the best loading. But if it's making really loud noises, I can't say that any of my games do that. It's the Panasonic Q, but still.

Eternal Darkness makes my GC grind like crazy. I have tried 2 other ED discs, and they all act the same.

Load time for Turok isn't bad at all on my XBox. I haven't timed it (I'll do that next time I boot it up) but it really wasn't too severe. The thrashing noises you talk about were somewhat common on the DC for quite a few games, and it never caused a problem. I can imagine that it might bother you though, seems like the system is tearing itself apart (in terms of noise, not in actuality) from what you describe.

For the loading you don't ask which is better but "Which doesn't load as bad?" The answer is neither. They both load extremely poorly and way to often. I haven't timed them but just by the feeling of playing them both, I would say sometimes GC has the slight edge but that's mainly due to the fact that Turok on Xbox has more textures, effects and enemies to load. But, both where designed too poorly to take any advantages.

As for the driver noise, If you have a regular GC, on some games it will make noise when accessing the disc. Just like what NeoLord said, the same thing happens to me on ED.

the GC does have the best load time With Turok... if you think its long on the GCN try the PS2. The Xbox is somewhat similar to theGCN, but some reports say its longer. MY GCN freaks out with this game too.... They just didn't make the game good at all.... its very innefficient.

Neolord... My GCN doesn't really freak load with Eternal Darknes... and that game has superb loading time.. I love that game :D

I have tried 30 other games on my GCN... and The only one with crap load is Turok.

Everything else is super fast.

I'd have a seizure too if someone stuck a crap game like that in my mouth all the time.

The game is not that bad... its just not near as cool as the Turok 1 for the N64....
.. it is somewhat similar to Turok 2 on the N64 but worse.

Actually, Turok Evolution is a very cool game. I've played the XBox version for a while and I really like it. IMO it is much better than the N64 Turok 2 game . . . of course it LOOKS about 1000 times better, but the gameplay and control are quite good as well. Also, it is not a short game by any means, has quite a bit of gameplay time to it . . . :)

Thanks for your help everyone .

I am still apprehensive about playing the game though , I think that I am going to call Nintendo tomorrow and see what they have to say about the matter .
