I have been seeing these all over ebay for awhile. Did the same company who made the Genesis 3 make these?

Looks like a slightly reworked version of the standard Sega Saturn controller. Says 'made by Sega', and 'Official' in the item description, so unless they're boots, looks like they're 100% Sega.

Probably released in the last days of the Saturn. I've seen a few different versions of the Saturn controller now. The regular one, this one, and a smaller version.

it looks as if the back of the controller has a few switches you can change. I wonder what they do? you think it was some kind of dev?

I have five of those controls. The switches are just auto-fire and slow-mow.

Near the end of the Saturn's life here in the US, I clearly remember Toys R Us selling these controllers. The strange packaging intrigued me, but I never did end up buying them.

I never realized that the controllers were actually physically different! :)

Are they as well made as the normal Saturn controllers? I remember walmart selling saturn controllers in a back box but it was the normal controller. I guess the company who made the Genesis 3 made them because they was supose to make a new saturn but never released it.

If you look at the packaging, you'll see that it only says Sega. Usually third party companies like Horii prominently display their logo on the packaging as well as the product itself.

Here's a pic of the 'Genesis 3' made by Majesco.

As you can see, although the directional pad and the ABC XYZ buttons are similar, the shape of each controller is pretty different.

Interestingly enough, the Genesis 3 doesn't say 'Majesco' anywhere on it either, however I'm assuming that it would be on the packaging.

Does anyone here own a Genny 3?

I have a Genesis 3. It is a very well made console and mine does not have the majesco logo no were on it only the Sega logo. The Genesis 3 controller does not even compare in quality to the perfect offical Sega 6 button controller.

I just won an auction for 6 of these controllers. I plan to hack them to have Neo pinouts. I will let everyone know how they compare to the original (Japanese saturn controller).

That’s why I got mine for. I have one for my DC one for my X-box and one for my Neo. I also have 3 Japanese Saturn controls. The other 2 are back-ups.

By the way they feel nothing like the 6 button Genesis control. They fell almost exactly like Japanese Saturn control.

I still have the box for my Genesis 3, it doesn't advertise that it is made by Majesco anywhere they only thing to tip you off is on the botttom of the box it says in tiny writing "Produced and distributed by Majesco corp. under license of Sega of America"
