Help with StarFoxAdventures... (*possible spoilers for those under 51% completed*)

First question: I'm just wondering, is it possible to do things out of sync in this game?

So far, I'm at 51% complete. I've gotten the first spell stone at Volcano Force Point. I've delivered the 2nd Krozoa spirit (If you count the one you got with the blue fox-girl.) After that I was told to go to the Seaside. So I went to CapeClaw, met the CloudRunners, rescued the 2nd spellstone and now I'm at Ocean Force Point.

Now, did I get side tracked? Am I supposed to get the 2nd Spellstone before going for the next Krozoa spirits?

Anyway, I'm stuck in the room with the electrified floor. I have tricky standing on platform and looked at the pattern lighted up on the wall.

I've tried to shoot the tiles on the floor that matched the "lighted up pattern". I've tried to throw the boxes on them. I've tried to walk on them (under SharpClaw disguise and as fox). I've tried shooting the sharp claws that are over in the distance.

I'm guessing that it's nothing to do with the staff's abilities since there are no magic crystals nearby to recharge.

Slippy's not being much help. He's telling me that there's something underneath me and I need to get my fur wet. There's also something about three switches.

I've looked everywhere in the room. I think I've looked everywhere in the clearing and the tunnel leading to that room.

What am I missing?
