I won two bare cart auctions from america and normal air mail both charged $20.00 approx £13.00
yet getting bare carts in the UK the maximum i paid is £4.00
which is such a big diff that its really not worth getting games from overseas, as one game i won for $16.00 and the shipping was more than the friggin game ...

Tell me about it... I hate it too.

You know what irks me. Some JPN sellers are cool and offer 4.00 shipping, that arrives in 1-2 weeks. Others only offer 12.00 shipping that takes 4-7 days to arrive. I know it's safer but I never had one of them $4 shipping options get lost on me, plus I save 8 bucks.

Yuppers. One game would have costed me 80 Euros, which is just ridiculous so I ended up not getting it.

I hear you...

Buying Neo games in the UK sucks ass. Those prices look so tempting until you add the P&P on top. And it's not like the Neo was very popular over here, so the market for second hand games is much smaller.

Yep i been looking on ebay for the last two weeks for mvs games and the uk auctions might reach ten mvs carts maximum while shiping to uk is over 100 items so you might have to wait weeks if you only want to buy UK till that game comes up you want and then seeing a US version up for a game at maybe 29 dollars you snap it up and then after postage it goes to over 50 dollars and what seemed like a good deal at the time no longer is !

Yeah, for smaller purchases I never go outside the UK. It just isn't worth paying more for shipping than you're actually paying for the game. But with more expensive items I have to do the maths and weigh up my options very carefully. I usually end up sacking off the whole idea of buying a cart because I can't help but feel ripped off either way.

Like you said, it just plain sucks. blow_top

well its not as bad as costums...
here in canada, if you buy a game over $20
from the states or any other part of the world
besides canada, you gotta pay the gay costum charge..

i got my aes system from the states,
costed me $74 canadian for customs crying

it sucks (for me) to send out International Packages because normally... I have a set charge, and it always seems to cost me $2.00 over what I charge the customer for International shipments.

it cost $28 for me to send 1 game EMS. the buyer couldn't believe it... but still wanted the game thinking I ripped him off.
He apologized to me when the package came and he saw that the actual postage was more than he paid.

I do ship internationally... but I try to make sure I charge enough. I don't know how some of these places get away with $12 ems...etc for 1 game.... that never happens with me. I have never been able to do that once. Cheapest 1 game EMS shipping for me was $20-22.

I totally hear you man. It seems I always don't charge enough on overseas packages. Sometimes I'll overcharge a couple dollars on accident, but it'll balance itself out with the other stuff I was overcharged on, and then I'll get an earfull later frown

thankfully no one has chewed me out for overcharging yet.

If its over $7 overcharged, I give afew $ back.

but... I shipped somewhere in indiana... it cost me $6.30 PRIORITY to ship a friggin NES toploader BOXED.. fully insured with DC.
I overcharged by about $10-11. I gave some back of course... but some went to the bubble wrap fund .. hehe :D

When packages go to Cali, or zone 4 and 5 places... I tend to break even or lose money :(

Especially international stuff. You know... I undercharged $10 once on an International package. I weighed it and took all the steps to make sure that would be the actual cost (on the USPS website)... wouldn't you know I lost $10. :(

Don't forget the extra costs that you sometimes get for crossing the border if the seller forgot to put the value under $50 or forgot to put ''present'' on the package you can pay another $10 or higher (my mvs 2 slot motherboard costed an extra of $60!! + shipping costs) it depends on weight.
