Damn right, after slaving over homework for hours, I finnally finished it and I installed my GeForce4 Ti 4200! :D

I upgraded from a GeForce2, and so I had the latest detonator drivers installed. I put the card in, booted, waited about 30 seconds and I'm up and running full resolution, turned all the shit on in UT2k3 and PLAYS LIKE A DREAM!!!

I don't think I've even owned a card that was this "new/powerful" on the market ever before. Sure it's far from the best but god damn she plays damn good!

Looks like I have to sacrafice Christmas for a new PC...

I was looking at Dells and I built a sweet comp with a GeForce 4... Believe it or not I got a reasonable price on it... I look foward to that.

i updated to a geforce 4 mx420 a few months ago, but the 600mhz speed still hampers it's performance a little. :( Hurry up, someone make a UT2k3 server, i have the full version now, and want to kick jhendrix ass.! ;) <img src="graemlins/tickled.gif" border="0" alt="[Tickled]" />

i can run ut2003 on my p2 350 with my 3d prophet 4500 (kyro-2) finally. i got about 10-15 fps with alot of stuff running in the background. i bet i can get roughly 30 if i close all that shit and overclock. :)

damn, when i upgrade im keeping my voodoo banshee in it no matter what. i refuse to sell out to nvidia. lol im hardcore 3dfx sorry :p i think glide 0wnz j00

I got a 64Mb Leadtek Ti 4200 card with S-Video and Composite output.

I wanted the 64Mb because it is supposed to be a little faster than the 128Mb version cause the RAM is clocked a little higher, although you can overclock the 128 card to be between a Ti 4400 and a 4600.

I think we'll both be happy either way!

Sonic, what's wrong with nVidia? They didn't kill 3DFX you know. They didn't out market them or anything like that, they just made a better card and well 3DFX made a card where you couldn't have 32Bit color. That and when 3DFX was supposed to "come back" with it's Voodoo 4/5/6 the cards were horrible compared to the competition. So they tanked and nVidia bought they're engineers.

There was no dubios practices or anything, it was just that nVidia made the fastest cards, why wouldn't you get one of their cards? I personally like them better than ATi at the moment because well even though the 9700 Pro is much faster than anything right now, it's way too expensive and well ATi drivers suck ass. I installed this card and was running with out even a friggin reboot, it was beautiful.

the voodoo4/5 had such promise(hype), but they simply didn't deliver the goods, and got walked over by Nvidia.

BTW, where did the Neo-Geo.com UT2003 server run off to? I've got the full version, but I can't find anyone here to frag. :D It's not as much fun fragging people you don't know.

Friend of mine got one of the Radeon 9700 Pros (I think that is what it was, I cannot keep track of all that stuff like he does). It makes an amazing difference in games to see them running at maximum resolution with all the details turned on.

EDIT: One thing about it though, he says it does not support GLIDE, so he cannot play the original TRIBES until he finds a work-around.

Bio, I'm pretty sure he can get a "Glide" wrapper that should take care of his not being able to play Tribes, but I'm pretty sure that there was a normal "non 3DFX only" version of it out there.

BTW, I turned every single detail in UT2k3 on and ran everything to the "Highest" quality and I'm running at my monitors max resolution: 1280 x 1024. Another friend of mine has the 9700 Pro and is running the game with the same settings except at his monitors max: 1600x1200. Un-fucking believable.

Why not pay $20 extra and be able to have that card last a little longer? Games like Doom3 will need something like 80mb of texture memory and being able to use the cards memory will increase the speed greatly.

Actually, they were better than what NVidia had at the time, especially for Unreal Tournament. It's too bad 3Dfx is no more.

I'm still using a 64MB Voodoo5 5500. :)

i really dont have the blings for a new videocard anyway.

i want one of them pimped out voodoo 3's with all the video ins and outs.

was UT the last glide game? it makes me sad :'(
