List your best gaming accomplishments here. And by accomplishment, I don't mean finding everything in Final Fantasy Tactics using some guide you downloaded from gamefaqs.com. I mean something you eventually and finally fought your way through on your own. No cheats. I'll go first, of course:

. (TOP) Finishing Level 31 of Final Doom: Evilution when there was a bug that normally prevents the level from being completed (I didn't know about it at the time, and it was later fixed with a patch)

. (SECOND) Defeating Chaos in Final Fantasy I

. (THIRD) Finishing Stage 6 in Contra: Shattered Soldier

Others worth mentioning:

. Defeating KOF '94 Rugal
. Defeating Goenitz in KOF '96
. Defeating Dracula in Castlevania I (NES)
. Defeating Dracula in Castlevania III (NES)
. Finishing Ninja Gaiden II
. Defeating Dracula in Castlevania II (Game Boy)
. Defeating Dracula in Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
. Defeating Orochi Iori and Evil Ryu in Match of the Millenium
. Defeating Metroid Prime in Metroid Prime
. Getting through chapters 2 and 3 of Final Fantasy Tactics
. Defeating Dizzy in Guilty Gear X
. Defeating I-No in Guilty Gear X2
. Defeating X-Death in Final Fantasy IV (both forms)
. Defeating Iseria Queen in Valkyrie Profile
. Defeating Sigma in Megaman X4 as X

1st: beating contra:ss with A rank

2nd: 1-crediting ikaruga

3nd: beating gradius 1 on the nes

after that, randomly

Emerald Weapon [ff7]
Ruby Weapons [ff7]
Beating Dante Must Die mode [devil may cry]
Halo, all levels, all difficulties complete.

Halo wasn't that hard...just a great notch on my belt.

Hmm, let me think. I have an almost perfect file in FFX, with every stat maxed except Luck on a few people. I'll probably finish that up sometime. I got 120 Stars in Mario 64. Perfect file in Zelda: OoT. Perfect file in Kingdom Hearts. I also defeated Sephiroth in that game on level 63, which isn't the lowest ever, but it was still damn hard.

Working on perfect files in Castlevania: AoS and Zelda: WW.

Let's see... most of the most challenging games ever made were on the NES, surprise surprise.

(with no hints/cheats...)

1. Beating the original Silpheed on the PC
2. Beating D&D: Shadow Over Mystara on 1 quarter
3. Beating MYST (there's a reason for the journal)
4. Beating Golgo 13 (NES)
5. Beating game and Shin Akuma in arcade SFA2, 1 quarter
6. Beating Samurai Shodown 4 in under 3 minutes
7. Honorable mentions on the NES: every Ninja Gaiden, RC Pro-AM, every Castlevania, and Mega Man 1 wink

For #1, the game was easy, but the final boss was every boss in the game at full strength followed by a 3-phase endboss... you get 1 set of shields, and start from the beginning of the stage when you die. :D

For #2, can do it with the cleric, fighter, magic user, and elf. Not yet with the dwarf and thief.

For #3, they gave you a blank journal with the game. Over the course of several months, I ended up filling most of the pages.

For #6: average difficulty, Slash Hanzo. wink I was not doing seppuku at the beginning of every match, but I probably could have beaten 2:30 if I had been.

Wow, i totally forgot!

#1: Defeating Myst without any sort of guide, save my own journal.

You're 100% correct...there is a reason for the journal. One of the most difficult games ever.

Completing Super Metroid at ~2 hour mark. (Speed Run)

Beating KOF 2k on one credit. (took HOURS)

Beating MOTW on one credit on HARD.

Defeating Metal Gear, Snake's Revenge, Metal Gear Solid with both Speed runs and never dying. (don't remember speed run times) Attaining "Big Boss" rating in MGS2

So rewarding too... I never got very far with Riven. My mind didn't suggest things to me like it did with Myst.

It'd look funny if I edited my post again, but add:
4.5 Beating The Empire Strikes Back (NES)

I remember some insanely stupid fights with Darth Vader near the end of that game...

Oh yeah, I have beaten every Super Star Wars game for the SNES. SESB is by far the hardest, IMO, although the other two are not exactly easy.

Best Gaming Accomplishements for MD20XX:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Beat Max Payne without having to continue at all... got close to dying, but never died once nor continued, and that was on the 2nd to hardest mode! *This includes not falling into a chasm during the blood trail-nightmare sequences as well.
Beat Contra Hard Corps for my Mega Drive!
Can beat Super Contra (Arcade/PCB) without continuning once.
Made it to last stage on Green Beret (this game is cheesily hard) for my Konami Classics Collection GBA game.
