actually, I think it is because if you go to dcemulation.com, you'll see that they have started production of a dc that can't read cdrs, but don't expect many more games if any or even any reproduction of old games.

I saw this news awhile ago on mmcafe. I wouldn't get my hopes up too much though, because Sega has already moved development to other consoles. The plant may churn out a few hundred thousand more consoles, but I don't expect it to change history. Pehaps the DC will live on as a niche product with strictly 3rd party development (which certainly isn't bad).

I've read this long time ago.
