Any techies here what type of switch should be used? What voltage rating?

Just a common On/off switch. 2 position. No electrical rating necessary. It is simpler than a saturn mod. Jumper 6 is open, it's jap, closed US. How simple is that?

Very cool.

That second run of pics confused me a little till I read the text.

I was blown away at how he made a switch with one wire.

I may not be the most tech saavy fella but...

Now I'm torn between importing or buying the US version to help the launch.

Either way you go Blaine, I can help you mod the GC when you get it, since I have the screwdriver to open nintendo equipment, and some other useful devices (hobby saw, soldering iron)

Run 2 wires and a switch between r6, the picture was incomplete. Very easy to do. If you have not done soldering yourself, have someone do it.

Yeah..that's where the confusion came from.

I was having flashbacks to the stories of the old M.I.T. Magic Switch.

The switch with only one wire that said "Magic" and "More Magic".

No one knows who put it there but to my knowledge it was only thrown twice...and both times it cause one of their larger computers to crash.

I'm sure it's long since been removed but it's one of the cooler stories in geek-lore.

EvilWasabi: Cool. I was just about to order a Gamebit from Lik-Sang.

Although between you and me I was talking with a dude who said they're very close to actually making a boot disk for the GameCube.

I figured since it was a hardware thing and software solution isn't likely but he seemed confident it could be done.

Glad I used to burn my Digital Portfolio onto 8cm disks . I have one JUST IN CASE.
