a merger with microsoft would have been good.
it would have meant total freedom for SEGA
to produce the kind of games they want to
without inhabitions that would have been impressed
by finacial troubles.
which they had loads of.
you have to understand that SEGA has been
losing money and falling into even heavier
debt year by year.
its not enough to be the underdog now.
you have to have corporate backing.
no commercial endevour can succede with out
the kind of money like this.
take everyones favorite mainstream rpg machine...
square is and has been owned partially by
sony now.
although its not enough market share to
say what platforms not to develop for..
like say the gba or xbox..
its there.
ever wonder how final fantasy the movie
was even remotely possible?
how the hell did square score a basement full
of rendering hardware?
think about that.
as for SEGA and microsoft i think that would
have been amazing.
the xbox would officially be the DC2
as well as all of SEGAs licenses staying in
one place.
you guys bitch about microsoft being the devil...
never go to japan and plan on opening up
a company.
big business is huge there
dont even try to bitch about monopolies there..
