truth be known, try and get either a supergun or a cabinet and a mvs board and then the carts are a lot cheaper, games are stl being made for home cart system but some are expensive compared to mvs, as for cds they ae cheap but some load times are bad and they dont make games for it anymore
welcome to the board

the home cart games can be pricy, like newer ones, or some old ones that are rare I.E.Metal Slug 1.
You can play all AES games on any system, there is no regional code, you can use controllers from Neo-geo CD on the neo geo home cart, or vice versa.
MVS, which is the arcade mahine, well MVS games are alot cheaper.
I have a home cart system, but i want to get a supergun, or a !ARCADE! convertor which allows you to play MVS games on your homecart.
So you have alot of choices, but i would get a home cart system, and if you want to get like a convertor or a supergun.
I dont know much about the neo CD, but load times are bad, and they arent making games for it anymore.

Hello,

I am selling a Cartridge system with three games (Last Resort, NAM 1975, and Magician Lord). It comes with two controllers and AV cables and original AC adaptor. I am asking 400-450 shipped in the US.

collectable sure ur right but hell i think were all alittle tight on cash during the holidays. i went w/ the AES since i got a fantastic deal but if i didint have taht oppertunity i think the MVS woudl have been better choice. bottom line is: if ya got money and ya love the art work then go w/ the AES. if ur alittle tight w/ the cash now go MVS and u'll save a bundle

I had both MVS and AES. MVS are cheap and plays just as good as the AES. Last year, I got rid of all my MVS, there's just something special about the AES.

Boring to look at? Maybe the cart but certainly not the arcade!

For the question, I personally prefer the MVS system over the AES.

Good call nickD - mvs is the way ahead, fair enough you dont get the all the pretty packaging but you save alot of money (metal slug $40 or $1200).

the only decent cd system to buy is the CDZ and even then you still don't have the ARCADE experience on cd

BUY MVS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are rich or simply wanna collect carts like I'm doing go with the AES system, if you don't wanna waste your money on gorgeous carts or simply you wanna just play then go with the MVS...
Either way enjoy the Neo...

it used to be an issue - MVS or Home.
MVS had cheaper games all around, but the new releases were insane for about a year to a year and a half. New release homecarts were substantially cheaper than the MVS counterparts for the duration of the year of release, but on the whole, homecarts have always been more expensive. Now we don't have new releases. Sure, KoF2001, but other than that, nothing worth buying a HC for. Now it's kind of ridiculous to be in the home market, unless you want to collect the expensive stuff.

I've got to agree with you man, if you have the bucks to spend by AES if not MVS, but either way you will have the most intense fun any ""HOME"" system can offer

PEACE!!!!!!!!
