I must admit I was skeptical when I first heard about the project, but as the release of the first movie draws near, and more information is released, it looks more and more as if it could become the equivalent of the original Star Wars Trilogy for the current generation.

Looks damn cool. I've gotta re-read the hobbit and read the trilogy for the first time before the movie comes out. Too bad they can't make a Wheel of Time movie.

A Wheel Of Time movie may not be as far-fetched as you think. They are making movies of all the Harry Potter books, and there are supposed to be seven books in the series. They have even said that since some of them are so long, those particular books may actually require two movies to cover them. Of course, I think the shortest of Jordan's books are longer than the longest Harry Potter book, so it would be a monumental undertaking.

Yeah, I'd rather not see a movie based on the Wheel of Time if it can't be done well and without major plot revision.

I've never read the book, but I am a Willow (Just released on DVD) fan, so this will be good.

The real event for LotR will be seeing all the nerds/geeks come out of the walls on opening day. It could be even bigger than X-men, Star Wars, and Star Trek combined!

I've read the hobbit 2 times and the Trilogy 4 times since I was like 12...

Now I'm no expert BUT WHY THE HELL DID THEY ENLARGE ARWËN'S PART IN THE FUCKEN MOVIE!?
Too many men in the books? Too few female parts? Well while you're at it why not throw in a pair of asians and an african american? I mean for christ's sake, you just can't walz in and whip around liek that. BAH!

Anyway, the battle scenes look KICKASS tho!

But I'll wait for the reviews first, I just don't hope we'll se THE LORD OF THE RINGS TOYS IN EVERY HAPPY MEAL! A NEW TOY EACH WEEK! and other franchise crap à la "Star Wars"...

I saw the name Strider mentioned somewhere. Does that mean that part of the moive takes place in 2042 Communist Russia?

The best is yet to come!!!

Every Movie should have a runningtime of about 3 hours. That makes 9 hours completly.

But in 2005 Peter Jackson is going to release a special DVD edition, containing all 3 movies, but with a runningtime of.....

19 HOURS!!!!!!

That rocks da house!!!!!

The movie looks pretty cool. I'm definetly going to see it opening weekend.

On a side note, does anyone remember playing the SNES Game. The game was a really cool 5 player RPG. I remembering getting it for my 13th birthday. The only stupid part of it was if someone died, they were dead for good, no reviving, no nothing. God that sucked..... but besides that, the game was pretty fun
