Which do you like better? UPS or USPS?

I personally have always preffered the post office over UPS. Why? For one, they ship stuff on Saturdays. UPS does not. Also, their employees are a bunch of teamster bastards that do not (in my experience) knock on the door, they are extremely rude when they do. Most of the time, I swear I hear a huge THUD when my package arrives followed by a quick scurriing to their big, dumb looking brown trucks.

Anyway, the reason I'm pissed is because my Sengoku 3 MVS kit is sitting at a UPS shipping facility an hour and a half away right now. If UPS worked on weekends, it would have been here by now.

What do you all think about UPS vs. USPS?

I agree that UPS sucks for the same reasons as Jon stated. All the same stuff applies.

But my biggest gipe wasn't mentioned - you have to schedule to pick up "missed" packages with UPS. USPS lets you come in any time they're open to pick up packages if the package is there (and not on the truck).

And they don't just ship on Saturday - I've gotten express packages on Sunday as well from USPS, an added bonus.

UPS sucks. The buyrite of the shipping industry.

I use USPS a lot more than UPS when it comes to Ebay. UPS does have neat brown trucks

I'm kinda pissed off at the postal service right now. I sent a money order Priority Mail to the neostore on Tuesday, and they still haven't recieved it yet. I only live 2 states away!

I like USPS better because:

1) I work all day long and there is no way I can catch UPS truck. Then I have to call them to hold my package.......etc....

2) USPS opens on Saturday

Right now I'm all for UPS. My local mail distro shut down because of the anthrax, so priority mail is not guarenteed for 2-3 days. Lady at the post office told me it could take upwards of 5-6! If it was any other time, I'd say USPS.

I've heard that letters and packages are taking 10 days to only travel 2 states.

Hell, SamX sent me a DC boot-up disc a week before last Tuesday and it still hasn't gotten here. I'll probably see it a month down the road.

Makes me wanna buy a DC boot-up disc!

Watch it!!! My UPS guy kicks ass. He always knocks on the door, and give my dog a dog biscuit. Sometimes we even engage in a little conversation. I prefer UPS because they are fast. USPS is slow... soooo slow...

I hear that, brotha.

The thing that really sucks is, when you order from franchise online stores (ebgames), they only ship it via UPS or FedEx. They don't deliver USPS, which is way gay.

UPS is more Xpensive too.

If they shipped USPS, I would be playing my DWVII and BO right now.

The way it's going now, I could've bought those two games at the store.

Sheeit.

Well, that makes me feel a little better about it. I was thinking that maybe my letter got lost or stolen, but maybe it's just gonna take a few extra days to get there.

Hmm, USPS without a doubt on this one. I guess I'm a little bit jaded when it comes to UPS. Last summer I decided I'd try my luck getting a job at a local UPS terminal. Well I got hired quite easily, and the first day of work I broke my foot in one of the semi-trailers, damn slave drivers. Of course as soon as it happened I let them know, and of I went to the hospital. But, later on they did not pay one cent for the bills incurred. Bastards said I signed a waver, because of the dangerous type of work I was doing. Funny I didn't remember them telling me I was signing a waver when I was. Fucking bastards.

My vote goes to USPS. Time in travel makes a world of diffirence. For example, a package coming to me from California, takes 1 week or more to get to me via UPS. USPS has it to me within 3 days, and even on Saturdays! Even when a state is nearby UPS takes longer unless I pick some really expensive 2day service. I don't even want to tell you guys some of the retarded stuff that has happened to me with UPS package (for example, the package going in the wrong direct (ex. instead of coming towards my state, it went in the other direction).

But I cant blame most of the UPS guys because they all are pretty damn hardworking. They trot around all day delivering tons of packages, and you just know that the reason they sometimes seem so rude is because corporate must stuff their vans till the top and tell them to deliver it all before 7pm. It must be tough job.

I have to say UPS. They screw up less often and are more helpful when they do. Ever tried to get USPS to trace Priority Mail? Forget it. If (when) USPS screws up, you will never see your stuff and you will never get compensated either.

I personally prefer UPS as they have a better tracking system than the USPS.

To elaborate, UPS will murder the recipient with surcharges if the shipment is international: I bought a joystick from SNK Corp. of America, they sent it UPS, which was f#$&ing expensive for one thing, and then I got slapped with 7 surcharges on top of that, which after a $5 or so discount SNK mysteriously applied, came out to MORE THAN THE JOYSTICK ITSELF! It's not the only such case, just the worst one I've had with UPS.

and that was the last straw.

In comparison, I've had plenty of good and great experiences with the USPS, as a rare sender (I live in Canada after all) via USPS and more often than not as the receiver of goods sent USPS.

Ask Trieuminator--I don't send Neo stuff USPS any more. At all. Saturday delivery is not enough for me since they lost $400 worth of carts even though it had Delivery Confirmation on it. They confirmed it...but didn't deliver it.

UPS features full tracking (you can follow it every step of the way on the web site), plus up to $100 of insurance automatically for just over what it would cost for USPS Priority anyway. I highly recommend UPS.
