well, I know x-box will probably be really easy and I myself could probably do it right now if you gave me an X-box and a game (anyone want to give me one to find out? <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">). As for game cube, it would be really hard and possibly costly and not many people would do it (it would probably feel like buying a ROM copier)... so i'd say nintendo is pretty darn safe right now

Proprietary hardware makes it very hard to copy. Remember the N64? You had to buy a disc drive that took ZIP discs to copy games. (Not that I did) <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

There also is the n64 development kit called the dr 64jr. It's meant for n64 development, however a lot of people used it for piracy. I remember that some of the akklaim programmers used it develop turok3. <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0">

Pirates also reduce a good game's chance of getting a sequel as well. Less sales means less perceived popularity of the title & less profit, so the maker of the game may decide to can the series.
