Sorry if it's already been asked, but... how is SOCOM?

I got me here a rent one get one free coupon good at Hollywood Video that I'm planning to use tonight.

I will be getting SOCOM as one of my choices. I heard some good things about that game. (I never did get into CounterStrike, but I'll give SOCOM a shot) and the other game I will probably use it on that one PS2 Tennis game that got some good word of mouth as well.

How's SOCOM and did anyone play that PS2 Tennis game?

My "backup" rental choices are:

Maximo
Silent Hill 3
The Thing
SSX Tricky
????

So, in a nutshell, let me know what you thought of SOCOM, the tennis game and any other recommended PS2 titles, thanks.

I only played the multiplayer demo of Socom, but it was complete and total ass as far as I was concerned. But again, I only played multiplayer when they beta tested it a few months ago, so I'm not sure how the real game played out (and I don't plan on finding out either).

The game is great! I've been playing since it came out and I'm hooked. It's got a few lag problems here and there, but other than that, its a blast. It's a nice break from PC FPS.
Although PS2 online games are just keeping my busy till XBOX Live starts. Now thats gonna rock hard!!

Silent Hill 3?? I thought the XBox had only a revision of SH 2 for PS2.

My bad, I meant SH 2.

Well, I ended up getting SOCOM and SSX Tricky. Both games are cool. Was my first time renting in years. Jeez -- 6.48 for one game 5 day rental? Prices sure have gone up.

Anyhow, in SOCOM it felt great shooting the bad guys right between the eyes. Tricky is a cool snowboarding EA Sports BIG title, I own their other one (NBA Street) which I would recommend to all basketball fans. Tricky reminded me of Steep Slope Sliders, yeah, remember that one?

Anyway, right now my bro's playing SSX and marking out big time for it.

It's pretty cool. I rented it from BlockBuster, so I wasn't able to play online (since I don't have the Network Adapter, yet). It was HARD. It took me quite a while to pass the first mission.
