What is your closest eBay snipe?

I just made a snipe with 3 seconds left on a flip clock/radio, my best snipe ever. I wanna hear about your best snipes.

I purposely look for auctions that end at weird times because they're easier to snipe, other than the fact that I have to get out of bed at 4:30 in the morning to do it.

At first I hated snipers. Thought it wasn't fair play. Now I see that it's part of doing business if you expect to get anything good on ebay.

I hate snipers!! <IMG SRC="smilies/veryangry.gif" border="0"> It's not a true auction unless everyone interested in the item has a chance to bid higher. I never will go that low. I was bidding on a KOF '96 two days ago and I could have sniped the guy but I didn't, I bid with 10 minutes left which started a heated bidding war ending at $78.51 with him the winner after I quit bidding with like 2 minutes left. I know it's a steal for that game, but I really shouldn't be spending that kind of dough on video games right now because I plan to quit my job soon. He wanted the game just as much as I did and could afford to outbid me so he gets it.

I won't snipe because I hate when people do it to me. It's the Golden Rule. You all suck for doing it. <IMG SRC="smilies/ohno.gif" border="0"> 7 days of auction-watching only to be sniped really pisses me off.

I purposely time my sales (when I sell) to end in the evening or weekend when most U.S. eBayers are home and awake so there is more chance of a fair bidding war and the result is higher final bids for me. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

One Eyed Willy I agree with you I don't always do it but as you may know there are some people that always seem to look for the same stuff as you and you reconize them as snipers, then what do you do - fight fire with fire! I find that alot of people snipe on arcade pcbs and that is where I watch out. But I always put a bid in at the begining and not just watching it untill the end then sniping when I do. If I want a rare enough item I will fight till the end, even If it means paying alittle more than I wanted to with my previous bids!

Keep doing different searches on eBay that turn up items with misspellings and omissions, and you'll find more good deals! (A search for "Neo Geo King of Fighters 96" would not have found that item, but "Neo 96" did!) <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0"> Secrets of the pros, brotha.

I do 10-15 seconds on 56k all the time.
