Can anyone tell me if these two games are the same, or not? If not, what are the differences, in terms of game elements? And, is CV: Complete playable by someone who can't read japanese?

I don't know about the differences between the two games, but the entire RE series is playable in Japanese.

You can play through the whole thing, but you can't enjoy all the little touches like the journals.

I played through the whole RE:CV JPN version for the DC when it was released and it was fine. But you miss out on some story elements.

DC version is better (PS2 one is too dark, I've played both versions).

Well, PS2 comes with one disc but two for DC.

It's up to you which one to get.
I'll choose DC version. If you already have original Code Veronica, stay away from this title. Just a merely update and that's about it.

The PS2 version is alot more grainier than the DC version. I would highly recommend the DC version over the PS2. Plus it's cheaper

It's pretty understandable if you can't understand Japanese--all the voices are in English.

Anyway, from what I've been told, the most significant difference between CV DC and CVX is that CVX goes into more detail about Wesker's role in all this (Wesker's Report).

Their both the exact same game for the most part, the PS2 may have some extra lighting effects, but i'd get dc version, cause looks smoother, and vga support.

I see... thanks everyone. Yes, I've played the original CV on VGA, and it's incredible. The only reason I asked whether CV: Complete was playable by someone who couldn't understand Japanese, is because I wondered if there were any new puzzles to solve that weren't in the original CV. If all the text were in Jap. I may not have been able to understand all of the corresponding clues.
