I got Marvel VS Street fighter with 4MB ram which works perfectly but I got KOF 96 from a auction, I persumed the cart would work with the game no problem, the game loads fine but when you play the characters break up when they move etc.
Do I need the 1MB cart?

That used to happen to me too

Sometimes it would be fine, but other times the break-up was terrible.

1MB cart will be problem free

Thanks for letting me know, I should be getting KOF 95 with the cart next week so the problem should be solved.

Doesn't KoF 95 use its own unique ROM cart?

I was under the impression that the cart for 95 had game data already on it, and therefore only useful for that game...

Your joking?, bugger!. Well I see what happens. If it doesn't work I will buy a cart from VGI.

I had the same problem with my Samurai Spirits 3 and 4 on my Saturn. I found out it was because of the type of ram cart I was using. I used a different one and the games work fine now. There are so many different Ram carts out there, I guess there are compatibility issues or something.

KOF 95 does require it's own Ram cart that was specifically made for KOF 95. But KOF 96 does not have it's own unique Ram cart. It does require a ram cart though. Is it KOF 95 or is it KOF 96 you have?

I never tried Kof 96 with a 4Mb Ram (the capcom's) it was meant to work with the 3 Mb (the snk's)

Yes, I have this problem too. During the game, certain characters will be glitchy.

I use an STkey.
Strangely enough tho, KoF 97 works just fine on my Saturn..

Hmm

kof 96 will not work with the kof 95 ram card
you need the 1 MB ram card that came packaged together with the snk games released for the saturn after kof 95.

there's alot of them on eBay so its not really hard to find.

my kof 96 97 and other snk games works fine with the capcom 4mb

KOF '96 for Saturn wasn't designed to use the 4Meg cart. It was designed for the 1 meg ram cart. KOF '96 came out before Capcom even made the 4meg cart. If you want it to play the way it was meant to play you have to use the older 1 meg cart. The 4MEG cart works but is glitchy......They accounted for the 4MEG cart in '97 that's why it works fine there......

As far as KOF '95. That cart will ONLY work with '95. It's NOT a RAM cart it's a ROM cart. Which means that it has ROMS burned with ONLY KOF '95 data on it. It is NOT interchangable with ANY other game. It is faster than the Ram cart by far, and if you notice when playing it......if you have the same character vs. same character, there is NO LOADING TIME at all, it loads like the HOME CART or MVS......fucking cool.......
