Fatal Fury / Real Bout story and order?

So im confused how the games work. Are the real bout games just a remake and re telling of the fatal fury games?

I feel like I've asked this before but, I cant remember the answer.

the real bout games are a continuation of the fatal fury story, pretty much in the order dr shroom put them in.

real bout 1 may seem like a remake/reboot of fatal fury 1 because of the similar story and ending where you are trying to get to geese and he ends up falling to his death. but i guess it was done that way to be symbolic.

Fatal Fury 1 and Real Bout are pretty much interchangeable except for Geese appearing in FF3. Everything else is uncanon tough (Fatal Fury Special, RBS, RB2, Wild Ambition etc.) Art of Fighting 2 is also part of the greater Fatal Fury story.
