I can believe what I did today. This is what you get after you sleep about 2-3 hours for several days. I went to my parents place for the Thanksgiving. I packed some of the stuff on the back of the truck and more fragile items inside (including Neo Geo-or so I thought-)then headed there. Once I arrived, I noticed that I actually left my home system on the sideways with my other packed items on the back of the pickup. It was amazing that the system didn't fly away--I was driving fast. Too bad that since the system was not covered like the rest, it was now filled w/ some scratches--bye bye near mint. I was afraid that it might not work, but it still runs fine. Now that's what I call a quality system-unlike the PS and Dreamcast, that broke and made me get another replacement.

Your comparing a heavy duty large cart system to the CD players (PS & DC) which are very fragile when even shaked.

Ass, oh i mean BUT:

Its true that the Neo cart system is heavy duty and does last long with some accidental abuse to it.

Of course a neo cart system would outlast dropping ect. over a CD system, LOL.

All the neo cart system is made of is pretty much a thin board with a cart slot on it inside a plastic case. The CD system has the CD lense that can get moved ect.

Also don't you have a door on the back of the pickup? If not and your system was just sitting there, I'm amazing it didn't slide off

Of course. No. It's just that I was glad that my system didn't fly off at high speed around 85 mph, at such a weird position. I had plenty of items fly off before on my truck

Yeah you are right. Comparing the cd to a cartridge based system wasn't fair. However, I posted w/ a Saturn in mind. Saturn is a cd system as well, but doesn't matter if you shake them or not (at least it was in my case) I own 2 Saturn, and they gave me no trouble whatsoever-and I dished out some serious abuse to my first Saturn. I don't care if the inside just looks like a mess. It's unlike Dreamcast and original Ps-they just could be built better.

I know the PSX had a high defect rate or whatever. But Ive had mine since about 96', its modded and never had trouble with it.

I did have to get my Launch japanese DC fixed by ncs, Cause the video circuit blew, But its run fine ever since, My USA DC runs fine.

And yea the saturn is built like a brink. I have 2, One got dropped 5 feet onto carpet off a shelf once and still works to my amazment

That's an excellent story. I'm waiting delivery of a cart system from France and this makes me more confident it won't be knackered when it turns !

Hurray

Tell me about it, I got a LaserActive system when I was on vacation in Canada, after I cross the border, I shipped it from Buffalo and when it arrived on Thanksgiving eve, the front panel was damaged and the LD tray won't move properly, thanks to the good service by USPS. Even though I had it insured, there's no guarantee that I'll get reimbursed, even if I do, it's something sentimetal (I've been looking for this for quite a while), not monetary.

I don't necessarily think that the Neo-Geo cart system is any more durable than say, a SNES or N64. Maybe more than the Genesis, and NES, but most cart systems (i've had most of them) are very durable, a little heavy, and well, they just don't have the fragile parts of a new CD console. I think definitely the Sega Saturn was the most durable CD system ever. Unfortunately the Dreamcast didn't get made with the same longevity factor in mind. I never move my DC anywhere, for fear of it breaking. But I used to make my Neo-Geo and SNES to friends houses all the time, no sweat, no worries. Probably the most fragile system ever would be Sony Playstation. (i hate those things) They've got all kinds of problems, overheating, freezing up in a game, starting fires if they're left sitting on a carpet while being excessively played. For a next-generation system the Playstation is a piece of shit. But back to the topic... I simply think mostly all cart systems are durable systems. Who knows why... but the Neo should be durable and lasting, with a price tag like that.
