The neo geo deal of all time...

Well me and my freinds were out today, And we always go into random pawn shops to see if they have anything good.

Well we went into one store today, And I saw a home cart system in the cabinet, No box or controllers and with a complete magician Lord cart.

I was like wow cool, Strange seeing a home cart system here. So I asked the uy how much it was, And he said 75 bucks for the system and game! I kept a straight face and continued looking around.

I then asked the guy if he could power it up so I could see it worked, Since it had no controllers I couldnt play it, But it powered up and worked, The system was in very good cosmetic shape as well

So we drove home got the money and I went back and bought it.

This has to be the greatest neo deal I have ever seen in my lifetime. All I need to do know is get 2 controllers LOL.

Weird stuff...

We were downtown, And this is the weird part, There are 2 import game shops downtown, That sell neo geo, saturn, PSX Dreamcast ect.

And I'd say theres only a handfull of people that accually touch the import stuff, Or know about it. It isn't exactley the import or hardcore gamers heaven down here like NYC or Cali, So there arent many hardcore people that will buy import games down here.

Since whenever we go they always have the same import games over and over, I swear we are the only guys that buy em. So I'd guess that neo was sitting at the pawn shop for sometime, I'd say 8 people I know down here know what a neogeo is, Only 2 accually own one (Neo cd), And since it had no controllers whos gonna buy it.

Anyways ALWAYS check pawnshops and stuff. Ive had a freind that found a turbo duo a few years back for like 80 bucks. Sometimes pawnshops can be a gold mine.

Funny thing about them though. I saw a complete sega saturn at one with like 4 games, And he wanted like 150 bucks for it, LOL

The reason I bought an MVS unit was Samurai 4, But have since sold it and got the saturn version, With slowdown during the combos I Cant stand.

Fav fighting game on the neo is probly Samurai 4, With KOF 98 a close second. Also like Kabuki Klash

As for other games I like the metal slug series, And waku waku 7 rules! I have the saturn version, never played the arcade one ;(

U?

I don't know, the $40 US Metal Slug another member got not too long ago is pretty much impossible to top.

What's the story behind the $40 US MS1? I must have missed it.

Another pawn shop story, posted back in September... Somone on the forum, got MS1 for like $30 or $40 complete, the original USA version. That makes my face suck in and look like the league bowling dude when he misses a strike.

The $40 MS1 story is a from a dude(dont remember who) who walked up to some guys gargage sale(or was it an ad in the paper?) who had a bunch of Neo games. The dude sees an MS1 cart sitting there and asks how much... the seller responds that he dosent really like that one and that he couldnt possibly charge too much for it... dude offers $40 and seller jumps on the offer! Probably the cheapest MS1 sale ever

As far as pawn shops, I've tried visiting them also, but I've never been able to find anything worthwile. Closest thing to anything of intrested I found was two ugly ass looking TG16's with no pads, nothing

75$ for a NEO GEO AES system?. I can top you on that. i bought mine for 30$ (swedish currency).

It was like 3 months ago in a toyshop. The system was complete, boxed and never played. The guy in the shop said it had been lying around in the back for about seven years.

That's a really nice score, bluSmurf. I've gotten some good deals in the past, but NEVER anything like yours, or for that matter the other two stories mentioned in this thread!
