I'm trying to figure out how the V ROM array works on the PROG16 board. At first it seems normal enough, has an SNK PCM chip doing the decoding and such. What's weird is every PROG16 game I can find puts the V1 ROM chip in the V2 socket and V2 into V4, etc.
Just out of curiosity I tried doing the same thing on the PROG16 with a different game, one that doesn't normally use PROG16 and the music doesn't work properly, go figure I suppose.
Does anyone know what is going on with this board? Is the board itself different from normal SNK procedures or do these games purposely have the V ROM data arranged oddly?
