hey guys, I was wondering something. What's the best controller(or stick) for the AES? I'm mostly going to be playing fighting games on it(like everyone else lol)but of course I will have a metal slug or something else laying around. Thanks for the help Later

Every single person who replies is going to jump in with "old-style joystick!". ButI honestly prefer the CD-style pad. After I played the NEO Pocket so much, I got really good using the little thumbstick for precise motions. I'm gonna go out on a limb and rank what I think the answers will be:

Old-style stick
CD pad
New-style stick

I only know of one person here who claimed to like the new style stick best, and that's because his hands were big enough he used it like a joypad w/ a thumbstick.

edited so it would say "But I" instead of "ButI"

MAS arcades sticks are sweet, that is my favorite. I don't mind the Newer Joystick or the CD pad, but the MAS stick is my favorite.

Gotta agree with Gokusama26
the NeoGeo CD pad is very good and comfortable. Still the original one is a must!

The Majhong Controller, it is great doing combos with.

Actually I like the old stick the best. I also really like a custom stick I made from arcade parts and a old joystick housing. However my solder work was not tops and it keeps breaking on me ;(

Hey! That person is me! New style stick rules, old style drools! Actually, I think they are all cool... I just prefer the new style right now. I used to use the pads, but due to excessive use, both of my pads wore out completely beyond usage. The old style stick feels so much more hollow and loose than the new style, and the buttons are arranged in a worse patters. In the new style they are more horizontal, in the old stick they are diagonal, so you have to turn your wrist a little in order to put all 4 fingers on the buttons... I think that's kind of awkward. They are all quality sticks though, don't get me wrong. I just like the new style best

The MAS sticks are actual arcade sticks. They look and feel exactly like an arcade joystick and they are good and solid feeling. They are however expensive. I prefer to use my Japanese Arcade cabinet sticks because you don't have to hold onto any base or anything but when I had my cart system I used the CD control Pad and I liked it. But I have to admit when all was said and done after I got rid of my original Neo Joysticks I did miss them. A LOT!!!

SAMURAI X-
it was like this.
i ordered one for my DC to play 3rd strike mainly (that game still feels kinda' weird being played on a pad). but i played SSF2T and CVS tha most with my friends. a little less than a week later, while in was playing the fucking CPU t.hawk in SSF2T, i saw that chun-li couldn't do ANY kicks. well, this pissed me off. so i reset the system, and woila! nothing fucking worked. i called them up later the week and told them "i'm sending this to you, give me my miney back"
they were mainly cool (though they didn't give me refund for any shipping)
